New Delhi: The Netra Mk3 AWACS programme could become India’s next major airborne surveillance project after the completion of the Netra Mk2 programme. Reports suggest that the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) are studying a heavy Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) platform based on the Airbus A330 aircraft for deployment in the 2030s.
