New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated 45 new Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs from Shakarpur on Friday, expanding access to primary healthcare services for lakhs of residents across the national capital.
The Chief Minister said the new health centres will help provide affordable and quality healthcare facilities closer to people’s homes and colonies. With this launch, Delhi now has more than 415 Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs operational across the city.
She also announced that the Delhi government is working towards achieving the target of establishing over 1,100 Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs in the capital.
45 New Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs Inaugurated in Delhi
Addressing the inauguration programme at Shakarpur, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the opening of these health centres marks an important milestone in strengthening Delhi’s healthcare infrastructure.
She stated that the government’s priority is to ensure that every Delhi resident gets access to quality healthcare facilities near their homes.
The newly inaugurated centres will provide essential primary healthcare services, reducing the need for people to travel long distances for basic medical requirements.

Free Healthcare Services Available at Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs
The Chief Minister highlighted that these centres will offer a wide range of healthcare services, including:
- General OPD facilities
- Maternal and child healthcare services
- Regular vaccination programmes
- Health consultations
- Availability of essential medicines
- Screening for non-communicable diseases
- Around 80 types of free medical tests
These facilities are aimed at improving preventive healthcare and ensuring timely medical assistance for citizens.
Delhi Government Targets More Than 1,100 Health Centres
CM Rekha Gupta said Delhi will soon complete the target of establishing more than 1,100 Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs across the city.
She described the initiative as a major step towards creating an accessible healthcare system where citizens can receive basic medical services within their neighbourhoods.
The government aims to strengthen primary healthcare delivery and improve health outcomes through these community-based centres.
₹14.25 Crore Development Projects Launched in Trinagar
After the Shakarpur programme, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated various development projects worth approximately ₹14.25 crore in the Trinagar Assembly constituency.
The projects focus on improving roads, drainage systems, public spaces, and community infrastructure.
Key development works include:
- Reconstruction of five roads and one drain in the Netaji Subhash Place area.
- Beautification work at Samrat Enclave Market.
- Development works at Gurjar Chaupal.
- Development works at Saini Chaupal.
- Improvement works at Shakarpur cremation ground.
PWD Roads and Infrastructure Projects Inaugurated
The Chief Minister also inaugurated several major road development projects executed by the Public Works Department (PWD).
The projects include eight important roads developed at a cost of ₹6.25 crore, including:
- Lawrence Road
- Maharishi Parshuram Marg
- Parwana Road
- G and H Shakarpur Road
- Eklavya Marg
- Thiruvalluvar Marg
- Veer Hemu Marg
- Other key routes in the area
These projects are expected to improve connectivity, road conditions, and urban infrastructure in the Trinagar region.
Focus on Better Healthcare and Urban Development in Delhi
CM Rekha Gupta said the Delhi government is committed to improving public healthcare facilities while accelerating infrastructure development across the city.
She emphasized that the Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs and development projects represent the government’s efforts to provide better services, improved facilities, and a higher quality of life for Delhi residents.
