Delhi: A group of 274 Sub Inspectors (Executive) from the 2010 batch of Delhi Police has expressed growing dissatisfaction over the delay in their promotions, which have not been granted even after 14 years of service. The officers submitted a letter to Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, an IPS officer of 1988 batch from Tamil Nadu cadre, on February 14, urging action to address their concerns.
In their letter, the Sub Inspectors cited a sense of inequality, pointing out that 26 of their peers from the same batch were promoted to the rank of Inspector three years ago by the then Police Commissioner, Rakesh Asthana. This discrepancy has caused frustration among the officers, who believe their promotions are long overdue.
The officers emphasized that timely promotions are crucial not only for morale but also for improving efficiency and the overall standard of living of police personnel. They argued that rank and discipline play a significant role in boosting the performance and dedication of officers within the force.
