Early Career in Andaman and Nicobar Islands
Earlier in her career, Sharma served as Superintendent of Police in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
She also handled the responsibility of SP, Marine Police, an assignment involving policing and security responsibilities in the strategically important island territory.

She was associated with Ex-Sea Vigil 22, a major coastal-security exercise, and received a commendation from the Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command for her contribution to coastal security and strengthening the security network.
The assignment gave Sharma exposure to specialised security challenges beyond conventional district policing.
Sharma Served as DCP South District, Delhi
In 2023, Sharma was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South District, Delhi Police.
The South District assignment placed her in charge of policing and law-and-order responsibilities in one of Delhi’s key police districts.
