Lucknow: The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) and Invest UP have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the connection between freight infrastructure, logistics and industrial investment in Uttar Pradesh.
The MoU was signed on August 17, 2026, marking a significant step towards improving multimodal freight connectivity and creating a more supportive ecosystem for industrial development in the state.
DFCCIL and Invest UP Sign MoU for Industrial Development
The agreement was signed by Sh. Sandesh Shrivastava, ED/Project, DFCCIL, and Vijay Kiran Anand, CEO, Invest UP.
The signing took place in the presence of:
- Pawan K. Rai, Director/Project Planning, DFCCIL
- Deepak Kumar, Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner, Invest UP
The collaboration aims to bring together freight infrastructure development and investment facilitation to support industries and businesses across Uttar Pradesh.

Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminals to Get Push
Under the partnership, DFCCIL will facilitate greater engagement with industries and business entities for the development of Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminals (GCTs).
These terminals will be developed on both railway and non-railway land, helping industries access efficient freight transportation facilities.
The collaboration will also promote road connectivity to GCTs, supporting seamless movement of goods from production centres to terminals and onward to their destinations.
Focus on First- and Last-Mile Connectivity
Improving first- and last-mile connectivity is a key component of the MoU.
Better road connectivity to GCTs is expected to:
- Improve movement of goods between industrial units and freight terminals.
- Strengthen end-to-end multimodal logistics.
- Reduce connectivity gaps between road and rail networks.
- Support more efficient freight movement.
- Improve the overall supply chain ecosystem.
The initiative is expected to help businesses access integrated logistics infrastructure and improve the efficiency of freight operations.
Invest UP to Facilitate Investors in Uttar Pradesh
The Government of Uttar Pradesh, through Invest UP, will facilitate engagement with prospective investors and businesses interested in establishing operations in the state.
Invest UP will also support the establishment of business units, including assistance related to land acquisition.
This coordination is expected to make it easier for prospective investors to identify suitable opportunities and establish industrial and logistics facilities in Uttar Pradesh.

The DFCCIL-Invest UP partnership combines freight infrastructure with investment facilitation to create new opportunities for industrial and logistics development.
