Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminals to Get Push

Under the partnership, DFCCIL will facilitate greater engagement with industries and business entities for the development of Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminals (GCTs).

These terminals will be developed on both railway and non-railway land, helping industries access efficient freight transportation facilities.

The collaboration will also promote road connectivity to GCTs, supporting seamless movement of goods from production centres to terminals and onward to their destinations.

Focus on First- and Last-Mile Connectivity

Improving first- and last-mile connectivity is a key component of the MoU.

Better road connectivity to GCTs is expected to:

  • Improve movement of goods between industrial units and freight terminals.
  • Strengthen end-to-end multimodal logistics.
  • Reduce connectivity gaps between road and rail networks.
  • Support more efficient freight movement.
  • Improve the overall supply chain ecosystem.

The initiative is expected to help businesses access integrated logistics infrastructure and improve the efficiency of freight operations.

Invest UP to Facilitate Investors in Uttar Pradesh

The Government of Uttar Pradesh, through Invest UP, will facilitate engagement with prospective investors and businesses interested in establishing operations in the state.

Invest UP will also support the establishment of business units, including assistance related to land acquisition.

This coordination is expected to make it easier for prospective investors to identify suitable opportunities and establish industrial and logistics facilities in Uttar Pradesh.

Partnership to Strengthen UP’s Logistics and Supply Chain Ecosystem

The DFCCIL-Invest UP partnership combines freight infrastructure with investment facilitation to create new opportunities for industrial and logistics development.

The collaboration is expected to support:

  • Industrial growth
  • Logistics infrastructure
  • Multimodal connectivity
  • Investment facilitation
  • Freight movement
  • Supply chain development
  • Establishment of new business units

By improving the interface between freight infrastructure and industrial investment, the partnership aims to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as an attractive destination for manufacturing, logistics and other industrial activities.
