New Delhi: Mr. Praveen Kumar, Managing Director of the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), conducted a detailed inspection of infrastructure projects, business development initiatives, and sustainability measures along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), covering the New Dadri–New Rewari–New Dabla section.
The visit focused on improving operational efficiency, expanding freight capacity, and accelerating green energy adoption across the corridor.
Inspection of New Dadri Infrastructure and Operational Facilities
The MD began his inspection at New Dadri, where he reviewed key infrastructure components including:
- ROB-191H (Road Over Bridge project)
- IMD building and associated facilities
He directed officials to:
- Complete pending formalities for early commissioning
- Speed up operational readiness of the IMD facility
- Ensure timely completion of ongoing works
He also reviewed technical progress and operational status with field officials.

Rail Car Inspection of New Dadri–New Rewari Section
Mr. Praveen Kumar undertook a rail car inspection of the New Dadri–New Rewari section to assess:
- Freight traffic augmentation initiatives
- Business development activities
- Corridor utilization efficiency
He emphasized increasing freight movement through improved infrastructure planning and stakeholder coordination.
Launch of FMP Wagon Rake for Trucks-on-Train Service
At New Rewari, the MD inaugurated a modified rake of FMP wagons designed to strengthen DFCCIL’s Trucks-on-Train (ToT) service.
Key features include:
- Low-floor design with 975 mm floor height
- Capacity to carry up to 60 tonnes
- Designed for commercial and defence vehicle transport
The upgraded system enables efficient and non-ODC (Over Dimensional Cargo) vehicle movement through rail corridors.

Improved Vehicle Lashing System for Safe Transport
The MD also reviewed enhanced safety arrangements for freight loading.
Based on industry feedback and coordination with RDSO, DFCCIL has introduced:
- A simplified vehicle lashing system
- Weight-based securing mechanism
- Separate arrangements for light and heavy-duty vehicles
This ensures safer and more efficient transportation of vehicles across the corridor.
Renewable Energy Push: Solar Power Projects Inaugurated
A major focus of the inspection was sustainability and green energy adoption.
At New Rewari, Mr. Praveen Kumar:
- Launched a Solar Power Project under RESCO model
- Promoted clean energy integration in rail infrastructure
At New Ateli, he also inaugurated a self-financed CAPEX-based solar power project, reinforcing DFCCIL’s commitment to renewable energy.

Inspection of New Ateli–New Dabla Section and Logistics Hub
During the afternoon, the MD inspected the New Ateli–New Dabla section, including:
- Rail connectivity infrastructure
- Corridor development progress
- Operational efficiency measures
He also reviewed the Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) at Nangal Chaudhary, developed under the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (IMLH) initiative.
He directed officials to:
- Ensure timely project completion
- Maintain strict quality standards
- Strengthen multimodal logistics integration

The inspection was attended by senior officials from DFCCIL and NICDC, including:
- Executive Director (Infrastructure)
- Business Development and Analytics heads
- Electrical, S&T, Mechanical and Corporate Communications officers
- Regional CGMs from Noida and Jaipur units
- Officials from NICDC Haryana Multi Modal Logistics Logistics Hub Project Ltd.
