New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been conferred the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar (First Prize), the highest official language honour, for its outstanding performance in the implementation and progressive use of Hindi in official work.
The award marks the second consecutive year that DMRC has received the top Rajbhasha honour, recognising the organisation’s sustained efforts to promote Hindi across its official functioning.
Amit Shah Presents Kirti Puraskar to Delhi Metro
The award was presented on September 14, 2026, by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah during the Hindi Diwas celebrations and 6th All India Rajbhasha Conference held at Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, received the award on behalf of the organisation.
Senior DMRC officials, including the Director (Finance), Chief Rajbhasha Officer and other officials, were also present at the award ceremony.
The recognition highlights DMRC’s continued efforts towards the effective implementation of the Official Language policy and the increasing use of Hindi in its organisational activities.

Reacting to the recognition, DMRC Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar said the honour would encourage the organisation to further expand the use of Hindi in its functioning.
He said such recognition would inspire the organisation to further develop Hindi as an effective medium for:

- Digital platforms
- Public services
Dr. Kumar dedicated the award to DMRC’s officers and employees, crediting their commitment and continuous efforts towards promoting Hindi across the organisation.

The recognition of DMRC at the national-level Rajbhasha event highlights its continued contribution towards strengthening the use of Hindi in a large public-sector organisation providing urban transport services.
