Firozabad: In a major push to strengthen tourism infrastructure, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved 24 development projects worth ₹33.91 crore in Firozabad district. The initiative focuses on enhancing religious, historical, and mythological sites to promote tourism and local economic growth.
The decision aligns with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to accelerate tourism development across the state.
Heritage and Religious Sites to Get Modern Upgrades
The approved projects will focus on the beautification and infrastructure development of temples, ashrams, and heritage sites across regions including Tundla, Shikohabad, Sirsaganj, and Jasrana.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh stated that the initiative aims to provide better facilities for pilgrims and tourists while preserving the cultural identity of the region.
Key Temple and Heritage Development Projects
Several major religious sites have been included in the plan:
- Goga Ji Kali Temple Piprauli – ₹70 lakh
- Paseene Wale Hanuman Ji Temple – ₹65 lakh
- Shri Brahmdev Shiv and Bajrangbali Temple (Shikohabad) – ₹1.20 crore
- Abganga Temple – ₹35 lakh
- Siddhkali Mata Temple – ₹1.30 crore
- Ancient Pathwari Mata Temple (Sirsaganj) – ₹1.10 crore
These projects aim to upgrade spiritual destinations with modern amenities.
Major Funding for Ashrams, Temples, and Rural Tourism
Significant allocations have been made for several prominent sites:
- Kudariya Wale Maharaj Ashram – ₹1 crore
- Hanuman Temple development – ₹1.30 crore
- Ramkrishna Dham Temple – ₹70 lakh
- Ambedkar Park tourism development – ₹70 lakh
- Ramkanth Ashram – ₹1 crore
- Ancient Shri Radha Krishna Temple – ₹90 lakh
These investments are expected to strengthen religious tourism in the region.
Focus on Rural Tourism and Eco-Development
The government has also approved rural and eco-tourism initiatives:
- Ved Udyan Park (Mawli) – ₹75 lakh
- Neem Karoli Baba birthplace development – ₹1.45 crore
- Rural tourism in Karhara village – ₹20 lakh
- Lighting and sanitation in Rapdi Eco-Tourism Zone – ₹1.62 crore
These projects aim to promote sustainable tourism and rural employment.
Large-Scale Infrastructure Push at Samor Baba Dham
One of the biggest allocations has been made for Samor Baba Dham Karhara, which will receive ₹11.88 crore for infrastructure and facility development.
Additionally, Shiv Vatika Temple in Shikohabad will get ₹1.18 crore for multi-purpose infrastructure improvements.
Economic Growth and Employment Opportunities
The tourism expansion is expected to:
- Generate local employment
- Boost small businesses and trade
- Increase pilgrim inflow
- Strengthen Firozabad’s cultural identity
Officials said the projects will also improve connectivity and visitor experience at key sites.

With the approval of 24 new projects, Firozabad is set to emerge as a major religious and heritage tourism hub in Uttar Pradesh. The initiative reflects the state government’s continued focus on infrastructure-led tourism development under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath.
