New Delhi: The Central Government has posted four Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officers to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as Deputy Directors of Enforcement, further strengthening the agency’s investigative and enforcement capabilities.
The appointments include officers from the 2019 and 2020 batches of the IRS (Income Tax), who are currently serving as Deputy Commissioners of Income Tax (DCIT).

Four Officers Appointed
The officers posted to the Enforcement Directorate are:
- Rohit Kumar (IRS-IT: 2019) – Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax (DCIT)
- Chandrakanth Reddy Mallu (IRS-IT: 2019) – Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax (DCIT)
- Akshay Kabra (IRS-IT: 2019) – Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax (DCIT)
- Siddarth Gupta (IRS-IT: 2020) – Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax (DCIT)
Role in the Enforcement Directorate
As Deputy Directors of Enforcement, the officers will be responsible for assisting in investigations related to economic offences, money laundering, foreign exchange violations, and other financial crimes handled by the Enforcement Directorate under various central laws.
The induction of officers from the Income Tax Department is expected to further enhance the ED’s expertise in financial investigations, tax-related intelligence, and enforcement operations.
