This Navratra proved to be really special for nine “Devis” residing in Jhansi. On the auspicious occasion, SDM Mauranipur Ankur Srivastav, celebrated by appointing nine meritorious girl students, who had topped the board exams, as top administrative officers of various departments in the Jhansi district, for a day to honor the nine avatars of the Mother Goddess.
The event that took place in Mauranipur tehsil, on Saturday, 24th October 2020, was a part of the ongoing program in Uttar Pradesh for empowering women, called “Mission Shakti”.
Sunaina Mishra served as the SDM; Nancy Gupta took the role of the circle officer; Diksha Ahirwar was appointed as tehsildar; Vanshika became the agriculture officer; Kritika was posted as education officer; Kumkum was the new SHO; Anjali Gupta served as the BDO; Aashi Gupta became the CHC head and Kanchan Agarwal took the role of EO.
The girls were picked from their homes in the official vehicle and brought to their respective offices, where they served as officers for the day. They were guided by the officers present there, who helped them. They passed various orders and marked applications of complainants to the departments concerned with instructions.
SDM Ankur Srivastav was happy that the experiment went well and hopes that it would make young children strive harder for their goals.
