New Delhi: The CAPF training institutes in India have expanded significantly, with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) informing Parliament that a total of 83 training institutions for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) have been established across the country. The government has also approved a new Central Jungle Warfare College in Chhattisgarh and a Regional Training Centre in Bihar to strengthen the training capabilities of India’s security forces.
Government Reveals CAPF Training Institutes Details
The Ministry of Home Affairs informed the Lok Sabha that 83 training institutes are currently functioning for various Central Armed Police Forces across India. The information was provided by Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai in a written reply to a question in Parliament.

Continuous Modernisation of CAPF Training Institutes
According to the Ministry, the government regularly undertakes the expansion, modernization and upgradation of CAPF training centres. This includes the procurement of motor vehicles, modern technical equipment and the creation of improved infrastructure for imparting professional training to security personnel. The upgrades are carried out based on operational requirements and emerging security challenges.
New Central Jungle Warfare College in Chhattisgarh
The Ministry has approved the establishment of a Central Jungle Warfare College for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The new institution will be set up in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, a region that has witnessed anti-Naxal operations and requires specialized jungle warfare expertise. The college is expected to enhance advanced combat and counter-insurgency training for security personnel.
Regional Training Centre to Come Up in Bihar
The government has also decided to establish a Regional Training Centre for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The new training centre will be located in Kishanganj district of Bihar. The facility is expected to improve training accessibility and capacity for CISF personnel deployed across different regions.
