Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Home Department has ordered the immediate transfer and posting of 10 senior Indian Police Service (IPS) and State Police Service (SPS) officers across several districts and police formations in the state.

The administrative order was issued from Gandhinagar on September 18, 2026, by Principal Secretary Sanjeev Kumar.

The reshuffle covers four IPS officers from the 2023 and 2024 batches, who have been assigned operational responsibilities as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), and six SPS officers who have been posted to strategic leadership positions, including Commandants of various State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) groups.

The appointments have been ordered with immediate effect under the authority of the Governor of Gujarat.

Four Young IPS Officers Get ASP Postings

The latest order gives operational field responsibilities to four young IPS officers in different divisions of Gujarat.

Mansi R. Meena – ASP, Viramgam Division

Mansi R. Meena (IPS:2023) has been posted as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Viramgam Division, in Ahmedabad district.

The posting places the 2023-batch officer in charge of a divisional police formation in the Viramgam area.

Mausam Harshadbhai Mehta – ASP, Deodar Division

Mausam Harshadbhai Mehta (IPS:2023) has been appointed ASP, Deodar Division, in the newly formed Vav-Tharad district.

The posting gives another 2023-batch IPS officer an operational role at the divisional level in north Gujarat.

Prakhar Kumar – ASP, Khambhalia Division

Prakhar Kumar (IPS:2024) has been posted as ASP, Khambhalia Division, in Devbhumi Dwarka district.

The appointment assigns the 2024-batch officer to an important divisional policing responsibility in the coastal Saurashtra region.

Karankumar Mansukhbhai Panna – ASP, Limkheda Division

Karankumar Mansukhbhai Panna (IPS:2024) has been appointed ASP, Limkheda Division, in Dahod district.

The posting is another operational assignment for a 2024-batch IPS officer, with responsibility for policing in the Limkheda division.

Six SPS Officers Shifted to SRPF Commandant Posts

Alongside the four IPS appointments, the Home Department has transferred six State Police Service officers to senior positions, primarily involving vacant ex-cadre posts of Commandants in the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF).

The appointments cover SRPF groups located across Vadodara, Banaskantha, Dahod, Godhra, Rajkot and Surat.

J.I. Vasava – Commandant, SRPF Group-9

J.I. Vasava, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-North), Vadodara City, has been transferred to Vadodara as Commandant, SRPF Group-9.

The new posting moves him from city traffic policing to the command of an SRPF formation.

D.M. Chauhan – Commandant, SRPF Group-3

D.M. Chauhan, formerly Superintendent of Police, Visnagar, Mehsana, has been appointed Commandant, SRPF Group-3, at Madana in Banaskantha district.

The posting assigns him responsibility for an SRPF group while moving him from district-level police leadership.

Prakashkumar Vishnuprasad Raval – Commandant, SRPF Group-4

Prakashkumar Vishnuprasad Raval, who was serving as Assistant Commandant, SRPF Group-15 (ONGC Mehsana), has been transferred as Commandant, SRPF Group-4, at Pavdi in Dahod.

His new appointment represents a move from an Assistant Commandant position to the command of another SRPF group.

B.L. Desai – Commandant, SRPF Group-5

B.L. Desai, previously Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Panchmahal-Godhra, has been appointed Commandant, SRPF Group-5, at Godhra.

He will now head the SRPF group based in Godhra.

H.P. Doshi – Commandant, SRPF Group-13

H.P. Doshi, who was serving as Superintendent of Police, Police Training Centre, Chowkey, Sorath (Junagadh), has been transferred as Commandant, SRPF Group-13, in Rajkot.

The move shifts him from a police training establishment to an operational SRPF command.

L.B. Zala – Commandant, SRPF Group-11

L.B. Zala, formerly Deputy Commissioner of Police, F-Division, Surat City, has been appointed Commandant, SRPF Group-11, at Vav in Surat district.

His new assignment moves him from divisional policing in Surat City to command responsibility within the SRPF.

Reshuffle Covers Field Policing and Reserve Force Leadership

The September 18 order brings together two distinct aspects of Gujarat’s police administration.

The four young IPS officers have been assigned ASP-level divisional postings, giving officers from the 2023 and 2024 batches operational responsibilities across Ahmedabad, Vav-Tharad, Devbhumi Dwarka and Dahod.

At the same time, six SPS officers have been moved into SRPF command positions, filling strategic leadership roles across several SRPF groups.

The transfers also involve officers moving between city policing, district-level supervision, headquarters functions, training institutions and reserve police command.

All Appointments Take Immediate Effect

The Gujarat Home Department order has directed that all the transfers and postings take immediate effect.

The order was issued from Gandhinagar on September 18, 2026, by Principal Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, under the authority of the Governor of Gujarat.

With the latest changes, the state police administration has made fresh arrangements for both divisional field postings and the command of SRPF units across multiple regions of Gujarat.
