New Delhi: The Himachal Pradesh government has transferred and posted two 2016-batch IAS officers as part of an administrative reshuffle. Dr Amit Kumar Sharma has been appointed Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kullu, while Sonakshi Singh Tomar has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur at Reckong Peo. The orders take effect immediately.
Amit Kumar Sharma Appointed Kullu Deputy Commissioner
Dr Amit Kumar Sharma, an IAS officer of the 2016 batch, has been transferred from his position as Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur at Reckong Peo and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Kullu.
His appointment also relieves Surjeet Singh, HPAS, who was holding the additional charge of the Kullu DC post.
The transfer orders were issued in the public interest following recommendations of the Civil Services Board, according to the information provided by the state government.
Sonakshi Singh Tomar Posted as Kinnaur DC
In the related transfer, Sonakshi Singh Tomar, IAS (HP:2016), has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur at Reckong Peo.
Before the latest posting, Tomar was serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA) in Baddi, Solan district. Her earlier posting as CEO of BBNDA is also documented in Himachal Pradesh government records.

BJP Announces Organisational Appointments in Himachal Pradesh
Separately, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced organisational appointments for Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir on September 23, 2026.
Shrikant Sharma has been retained as the BJP’s in-charge for Himachal Pradesh, while Rajya Sabha MP Darshana Singh has been appointed co-in-charge for the state.
The appointments are part of the BJP’s wider organisational exercise covering states and Union Territories.
Reena Kashyap Appointed BJP Co-In-Charge for Jammu and Kashmir
The BJP has also appointed Reena Kashyap, MLA from Pachhad in Himachal Pradesh, as co-in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir.
Satish Poonia has been appointed BJP in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir.
The organisational appointments were announced as part of the party’s latest nationwide restructuring.
Shrikant Sharma Continues as Himachal BJP In-Charge
Shrikant Sharma, an MLA from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, has been associated with the BJP’s Himachal Pradesh organisation since being appointed the party’s election in-charge for the state ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He was subsequently given responsibility as state in-charge.
He has previously served as Energy Minister in the Uttar Pradesh government and held various organisational responsibilities within the BJP.
The latest organisational list therefore retains Sharma as Himachal Pradesh in-charge and adds Darshana Singh as co-in-charge.
