New Delhi: Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, held its 59th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 23, 2026, through Video Conferencing and Other Audio-Visual Means.
The AGM was chaired by Anupam Misra, Chairman and Managing Director, Hindustan Copper, who briefed shareholders on the company’s physical and financial performance, mine expansion plans, social and environmental initiatives, copper market developments and the outlook for the sector.
During the meeting, HCL highlighted strong growth in ore production, Metal-in-Concentrate (MIC) production, revenue and profitability, along with the approval of a final dividend and the company’s upgraded long-term credit rating.
HCL Reports Strong Growth in Ore and MIC Production
Hindustan Copper reported an increase in both ore production and Metal-in-Concentrate output during FY 2026-27.
Ore production reached 3.67 million tonnes, registering a 6% year-on-year growth. Meanwhile, MIC production stood at 27,421 tonnes, marking a 9% increase over the previous year.
The company said its MIC production was the highest achieved in the past seven years.

Revenue From Operations Rises 49%
HCL also reported significant growth in its financial performance.
Revenue from operations increased to ₹3,077.92 crore, compared with ₹2,070.96 crore in the previous year, representing a 49% year-on-year increase.
Profitability also recorded substantial growth during the period.
- Revenue from Operations: ₹2,070.96 crore → ₹3,077.92 crore (49% growth)
- Profit Before Tax: ₹633.51 crore → ₹1,232.73 crore (95% growth)
- Profit After Tax: ₹468.53 crore → ₹920.67 crore (97% growth)
Profit Before Tax (PBT) increased to ₹1,232.73 crore, compared with ₹633.51 crore in the previous year, registering a 95% increase.
Profit After Tax (PAT) rose to ₹920.67 crore from ₹468.53 crore, representing a 97% year-on-year growth.
Shareholders Approve ₹1.86 Per Share Dividend
During the AGM, shareholders approved a dividend equivalent to 37.20% of the company’s paid-up capital, amounting to ₹1.86 per share on a face value of ₹5 per share for FY 2025-26.
This dividend is in addition to the interim dividend of ₹1 per share, equivalent to 20%, which had already been declared and paid in March 2026.
According to the company, the total dividend declared stands at 57.20% of paid-up capital.

ICRA Upgrades HCL Long-Term Credit Rating to AAA
Another key development highlighted during the AGM was the upgrade of Hindustan Copper’s long-term credit rating by ICRA.
The company’s long-term credit rating was upgraded from AA+ (Stable) to AAA (Stable) on September 22, 2026.
HCL said AAA (Stable) is the highest rating on ICRA’s long-term rating scale. The company also holds an A1+ rating on the short-term scale, which is the highest possible rating in that category.
The two ratings together represent the highest possible ratings on ICRA’s respective long- and short-term scales.
HCL Highlights Mine Expansion and Sustainability Initiatives
During the AGM, the Chairman also briefed shareholders on the company’s mine expansion plans, social and environmental initiatives, as well as developments in the global and Indian copper markets.
