MumbaiHindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has officially launched the Core Refinery Program, a strategic capability-building initiative aimed at preparing the next generation of refinery leaders. The program was inaugurated by the company’s Director (Refineries), who called it a “transformative step” toward empowering early-career professionals in India’s evolving energy landscape.

8-Month Program to Build Future-Ready Talent

Conceived by HPCL’s Capability Building team, the eight-month intensive program targets young officers in the early stages of their careers. It is meticulously designed to impart cross-functional expertise, enhance digital proficiency, and develop deep technical knowledge—all critical for navigating the increasingly complex challenges of modern refining operations.

In a post sharing the development, the Director (Refineries) emphasized,

“We are not just investing in skills—we are investing in a culture of learning, innovation, and operational excellence.”

Strategic Focus on Agility, Safety, and Innovation

The program’s core objective is to create a workforce that can lead with agility, think digitally, and operate safely in a high-stakes industry. It aligns with HPCL’s broader mission to build a smarter, safer, and more agile refining ecosystem capable of supporting India’s long-term energy goals.

“Learning today, leading tomorrow. Strengthening the core of our refineries, together,” the Director added.

A Culture of Excellence

The Core Refinery Program reflects HPCL’s ongoing commitment to employee development and sectoral transformation. As the refining sector undergoes digitalization and shifts toward sustainable practices, this initiative is expected to create a robust pipeline of skilled professionals ready to lead from the front.

With this move, HPCL reinforces its belief that true operational excellence begins with people—trained, motivated, and future-ready.
