New Delhi: HUDCO’s Human Settlement Management Institute (HSMI) successfully organised a one-day hybrid training programme on “Procurement through Government e-Marketplace (GeM)”, focusing on the latest developments and practical aspects of procurement through the government’s online marketplace.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Daljeet Singh Khatri, Director (Finance), HUDCO, in the presence of Mr. Vineet Gupta, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) and Mr. Tekkam Sridhar, Senior Executive Director (Sr. ED).
HUDCO HSMI Training Programme Focuses on GeM Procurement
The training programme provided participants with an overview of the latest features and functionalities available on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM).
The session was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of the GeM procurement process and provide practical insights into using the platform effectively.
A key highlight of the programme was a live demonstration of bid uploading, which gave participants a practical understanding of the process.
Officials from GeM also shared valuable insights and guidance during the training session.
Officials from Multiple PSUs Participate
The programme brought together officials from HUDCO and other public sector organisations, providing an opportunity for participants to exchange knowledge and understand best practices related to GeM procurement.
Participants included officials from:
- Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO)
- Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA)
- THDC India Limited
- Sagarmala Finance Corporation Limited
- HUDCO’s Regional Offices, which participated virtually
The hybrid format enabled officials from different locations to join the programme and benefit from the training.
Practical Learning Through Live Demonstration
The programme focused not only on the features of GeM but also on practical understanding of the platform.
The live bid-uploading demonstration helped participants gain hands-on insights into the procurement process, while interactions with GeM officials provided clarity on the latest platform functionalities.The initiative is expected to support officials in keeping pace with changes in government procurement procedures and using GeM more effectively in their respective organisations.
