New Delhi: Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Human Upliftment Mission for the installation of 13 LED high mast lights in the Pathardeva Assembly Constituency of Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh.
The MoU was signed at the HURL Head Office in New Delhi in the presence of Dr. S. P. Mohanty, Managing Director, HURL.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening public and road safety across important rural intersections, market hubs and community gathering areas in the region while supporting better rural infrastructure.
13 LED High Mast Lights to Be Installed Across Key Rural Areas
Under the initiative, energy-efficient high-mast LED lighting infrastructure will be installed at selected locations across five blocks of the Pathardeva Assembly Constituency.
The project will cover:
- Pathardeva
- Desahi Deoria
- Baitalpur
- Tarkulwa
- Gauribazar
The lighting infrastructure is intended to improve visibility in public spaces and at important rural locations, particularly around intersections, markets and community gathering points.

Project to Strengthen Public and Road Safety
The installation of high-mast LED lights is expected to contribute to improved public and road safety in the covered areas.
Better illumination at key locations can also support safer movement of residents and improve the usability of public spaces after dark.
The project is focused on strengthening community infrastructure while addressing everyday safety requirements in rural areas.
Energy-Efficient LED Infrastructure to Support Rural Development
The use of energy-efficient LED technology is expected to provide improved lighting while supporting more sustainable infrastructure development.
According to HURL, the initiative will help:
- Improve public and road safety
- Create better-lit public spaces
- Enhance security in rural areas
- Support local economic activity
- Strengthen rural infrastructure
Improved lighting around market hubs and community gathering areas is also expected to support local economic and community activities.
