Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Friday inaugurated the IAS Service Meet in Bhopal, marking the beginning of a three-day event aimed at fostering camaraderie, creativity and coordination among Indian Administrative Service officers of Madhya Pradesh. IAS officers from across the state have gathered in the capital to participate in the meet, which blends professional bonding with cultural and recreational activities.

Officers from Assistant Collectors to Chief Secretary Participate

The IAS Service Meet has brought together officers from all levels of the service, ranging from Assistant Collectors to the Chief Secretary, along with former IAS officers and their family members. The event provides a unique platform for officers to interact informally, strengthening personal and professional relationships beyond routine administrative work.

Platform to Showcase Talent Beyond Administration

During the meet, IAS officers will get an opportunity to showcase their artistic and creative talents, highlighting skills beyond their official roles. A series of cultural and entertainment programmes are being organised at the Arera Club, continuing throughout the day and late into the night.

The programmes include music, performances, quizzes and other creative presentations, allowing officers and their families to participate actively.

Four Houses Formed to Boost Team Spirit

For the three-day event, officers have been divided into four houses — Red, Green, Blue and Yellow. Each house has designated captains and vice-captains, ensuring structured participation and healthy competition among groups.

Several competitions will be held between these houses, adding an element of excitement and team spirit to the Service Meet.

Awards to Be Presented in Multiple Categories

Awards will be distributed on the final day of the meet in four main categories –

  • Most Creative
  • Best Presentation
  • Best Entertainment Value
  • Best Coordination

In addition, special awards such as Best Child Artist and Best Senior Artist will be given in each house to children of IAS officers below 18 years of age, encouraging family participation.

Grouping of Field Officers to Enhance Participation

IAS Officers Association President and Additional Chief Secretary Manu Srivastava said that field-posted officers from nearby divisions have been grouped together to facilitate easier participation and better coordination.

He noted that competitive events, especially the cultural night between the houses, will further boost enthusiasm and engagement among officers.

Service Meet Strengthens Bonds: Organising Committee Chairperson

Organising Committee Chairperson and Principal Secretary P. Narhari said that since its inception in 2010, the IAS Service Meet has consistently created memorable experiences for officers and their families.

He added that the event has helped:

  • Strengthen bonds among officers
  • Promote cooperation and teamwork
  • Build new friendships
  • Create cherished memories

From soulful music and quizzes to energetic sports activities, each edition of the Service Meet has offered something meaningful for everyone, he said.

A Blend of Fellowship, Creativity and Recreation

The IAS Service Meet continues to serve as an important forum for nurturing unity within the administrative fraternity, offering a refreshing break from routine governance while reinforcing the spirit of collective service.
