Inspector General of Forests, NTCA, Dr. Amit Mallick, is all praises for Field Director of Bandipur TR (Karnataka), Dr. Ramesh Kumar P. In a letter, Dr. Mallick appreciated Dr. Ramesh’s effort in making BTR the 2nd Best Managed Tiger Reserve in India, among the 53 Tiger Reserves in the country.
In the Management Effectiveness Evaluation (MEE) exercise 2022, conducted by NTCA, WII & MoEF& CC on the occasion of the 50th year of Project Tiger, Periyar Tiger Reserve of Kerala secured number one rank fulfilling 94.38 percent of all requirements needed to further the tiger population in the country and for being the best managed TR. While Bandipur TR of Karnataka and Satpura TR (Madhya Pradesh) came second jointly.
