Gandhinagar: Indian Potash Limited (IPL) and Jain Irrigation Systems Limited (JISL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote scientific, sustainable, and technology-driven sugarcane cultivation in Gujarat.
The agreement was signed at the IPL Corporate Office in New Delhi and aims to encourage farmers to adopt modern agricultural practices through advanced irrigation solutions, capacity building, and field-level demonstrations.
IPL and JISL Join Hands to Improve Sugarcane Farming Practices
Under the partnership, IPL and JISL will collaborate to strengthen sugarcane farming by promoting efficient irrigation and precision agriculture techniques.
The initiative will focus on the survey, design, supply, and installation of drip irrigation systems, along with farmer training programmes and on-field demonstrations to help cultivators understand and adopt modern farming methods.

Focus on Drip Irrigation and Water-Efficient Agriculture

These measures are expected to help increase sugarcane production, improve crop quality, reduce cultivation costs, and enhance farmers’ income.

Speaking about the partnership, Giridhar Loh, State Head–Gujarat, Jain Irrigation Systems Limited, said that the collaboration will play an important role in accelerating the adoption of drip irrigation in sugarcane farming.
He highlighted that improved irrigation efficiency will help increase crop productivity, reduce farming costs, enhance farmers’ income, and support sustainable development of India’s sugar and biofuel industries.
