Haryana: Administrative Hiccup Enables Two Junior IPS Officers To Receive Higher Pay Than Their Seniors

The state government ordered a revision of pay for two 1997 batch IPS officers while four 1996 batch officers remain waiting
Indian Masterminds Stories

In an uncanny development, the government of Haryana has ordered a revision of pay for two 1997 batch IPS officers, Mr. Amitabh Dhillon and Mr. Sanjay Kumar following their promotion to the rank of additional director general of police (ADGP), while 1996-batch IPS officers in the rank of additional director general of police (ADGP) are still awaiting a circular that shall notify an increase in their pay.

In this situation, that looks like a trivial administrative oversight, four 1996 batch IPS officers — Ms. Mamta Singh, Mr. M Ravi Kiran, Mr. KK Rao and Mr. Hanif Qureshi, who were promoted to the ADGP rank in May 2022, would have to wait for their pay revision while their juniors cash-in a higher stipend!

The home department (Haryana) is expected to issue a clarificatory order in this regard, today.
