Prime Minister Narendra Modi has awarded the Presidential Medal to IPS Yashwant K Jethwa, a 1994 batch officer from the Odisha cadre. Mr. Jethwa is the Director of Vigilance in Odisha at the moment.
A Mumbai-born Gujarati, Mr. Jethwa was the Inspector General of Special Protection Group at the Prime Minister’s Office from 2015 until 2020.
He was previously the Additional DGP, Law and Order, in charge of the crime branch. The officer has always underlined the importance of using technology and forensic science to investigate and prosecute criminals.
