Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Thursday carried out a major reshuffle in the state police administration, transferring 41 police officers, including several Indian Police Service (IPS) and State Police Service (SPS) officers across key postings in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Nashik, Nagpur, Pune and other regions.
The transfers include seven officers of the rank of Special Inspector General (IG), several DIG-rank officers, Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), and Superintendents of Police (SPs).

Officials said the reshuffle has been undertaken to strengthen law and order management, improve coordination and streamline policing across sensitive urban and rural regions.
