The Election Commission of India has given its nod to a proposal of appointing three IPS officers into distinctive ranks and capacities across Odisha. Writing to Mr. PK Jena (1989 batch IAS), the incumbent Chief Secretary of the state, the ECI allowed the appointment of Mr. Brijesh Kumar Rai (2009 batch IPS officer) for the post of Superintendent of Police (SP) in Rourkela, Mr. Prakash R (2008 batch IPS officer) as the Deputy Commissioner of Police of Cuttack, and Mr. Umashankar Dash (2008 batch IPS officer) as the SP of Angul.
