Puducherry: The Puducherry Government has carried out a reshuffle of IPS and Puducherry Police Service (PPS) officers, issuing separate transfer and posting orders aimed at strengthening policing and administrative efficiency across the Union Territory.
The reshuffle involves key changes in Karaikal, Mahe and the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Wing, with senior officers being assigned new responsibilities.
Lakshmi Soujanya Posted to Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Wing
As per the government order, M.V.N.V. Lakshmi Soujanya, IPS, who was serving as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Karaikal Region, has been transferred and posted as Senior Superintendent of Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Puducherry.
The posting is considered significant as the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Wing plays a crucial role in investigating corruption-related complaints and ensuring transparency in government functioning.
Vinay Kumar Gadge Takes Charge as SSP, Karaikal
Following Lakshmi Soujanya’s transfer, Vinay Kumar Gadge, who was serving as Superintendent of Police, Mahe, has been appointed as the new Senior Superintendent of Police, Karaikal Region.
His appointment is expected to strengthen law-and-order management and policing operations in the Karaikal district.
PPS Officers Also Reassigned
The reshuffle also includes transfers among officers of the Puducherry Police Service (PPS).
B. Danassegarane Posted as SP, Mahe
B. Danassegarane has been appointed as Superintendent of Police, Mahe, filling the vacancy created after Vinay Kumar Gadge’s transfer to Karaikal.
S. Marthini Appointed SP, Karaikal Traffic
S. Marthini has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Karaikal Traffic, where she will oversee traffic regulation, road safety initiatives and enforcement activities in the region.
Government Continues Administrative Reorganisation
The latest transfers are part of the Puducherry administration’s ongoing efforts to optimize police leadership positions and improve operational effectiveness across the Union Territory.
