The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered the transfer of senior IPS officer Mr. Narendra Bhargava (2003 batch), the incumbent DIG Border Range, who is set to retire in June 2024.

The Election Commissioner sought the recommendation from a panel comprising names of three officers to replace the IPS officer. The ECI asked the government of Punjab to transfer Mr. Bhargava out of the district where he presently serves to ensure that he does not get posted within the same parliamentary constituency.
