Uttar Pradesh: Who Is IG Laxmi Singh, Who Becomes First Woman Police Commissioner in UP

In a major reshuffle in police department, Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government transferred and posted 16 IPS officer including appointment of 3 police commissioner in newly-formed commissionerates. The government has appointed Inspector-General of Police (IG), Lucknow range, Laxmi Singh, as the first woman Police Commissioner of the state giving her the charge of Noida.

She will replace Alok Singh, who has been posted to the Director General of Police (DGP) headquarters in Lucknow. IPS officer Lakshmi Singh is the wife of MLA Rajeshwar Singh from Sarojininagar assembly seat of Lucknow. Rajeshwar Singh was also an IPS.

Laxmi Singh is considered to be one of the most dynamic police officers. She has also been honored with many awards for his excellent performance and discharge of responsibility honestly. In this episode, Lakshmi Singh has also been honored with the Chief Minister’s Excellence Service Police Medal. Apart from this, the Union Home Ministry has declared PTS Meerut as the number one institute in India and has also given a reward of Rs 2 lakh.

Laxmi Singh was declared the best probationer during her training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad. 2000 batch IPS Laxmi Singh has received the silver baton from the Prime Minister. Apart from this, he has also received a 9 mm pistol as a prize from the Union Home Ministry, which he has kept safely.

Laxmi Singh, a 2000 batch woman IPS topper, donned the khaki police uniform after completing her MA degree in Mechanical Engineering and Sociology. She does her duty honestly and courageously. In her career in the police department, Laxmi Singh stayed in Agra as DIG in 2014 and brought big criminals behind bars. After this, in many districts including Farrukhabad, Bulandshahr, she has handled the responsibility of the police captain. In the districts where Laxmi Singh was posted, she played an important role in maintaining law and order.
