On Wednesday, the Telengana Government announce the transfer of the top IPS officers in Hyderabad. The State government has shifted the former Police Commissioner, VC Sajjanar and appointed Stephen Raveendra in his place.
Stephen Raveendra , a 1999 batch IPS officer , who was the Inspector General of West Zone . Previously, served as the DIG of Grey Hounds , an elite Special Task Force that was formed to deal with Naxals.
CM , YS Rajeshkhara Reddy , two years ago wanted Raveendra to join AP force as the State Intelligence Chief as he has also served as the CSO for the father and the former CM of the state .
VC Sajjanar , the Hyderabad Commisioner has appointed as the MD of TSRTC ( Telengana State Road Transport Corporation) which has remained without the Managing Director since 2019 post retirement of Mr.Rao.
Mr. Sajjanar has completed 3 years as the Hyderabad Police Commissioner and recently was promoted as ADG . His transfer seems more of a routine . He was also the Superintendent of Police,at Warangal District in the year 2008 where 3 men killed 2 young girls throwing acid and were later encountered.
With the new posting Sajjanar who has various posts including the Head of State Intelligence Bureau is now moved into a position that does not involve law and order .
Anil Kumar , the 1996 batch IPS will also be taking over the post of ADG of Police , Intelligence relieving Dr.T Rabhakar Rao who got retired recently .
