New Delhi: Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Chairman and Managing Director of the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), inaugurated Cyber Security Awareness Month 2026 at the IREDA Business Centre in New Delhi.
The initiative aims to strengthen cybersecurity awareness among employees and promote safe digital practices across the organisation.
During the inaugural programme, a Cyber Security Pledge was administered to all employees through a virtual platform. The pledge reaffirmed IREDA’s commitment to maintaining a safe and secure digital workplace.
IREDA CMD Urges Employees to Stay Alert to Cyber Threats
Addressing employees, Dr. Mohanty urged them to remain vigilant against evolving cyber threats and follow safe digital practices.
He also encouraged employees to actively participate in the awareness activities being organised as part of the month-long campaign.
The initiative is aimed at improving employees’ understanding of cyber risks and strengthening a culture of digital security within the organisation.

Cyber Security Expert Highlights Phishing and Password Safety
The formal inauguration was followed by an interactive awareness session conducted by Rashtra Shourya, Cyber Security Expert.
The session focused on common cyber risks and practical measures employees can take to protect personal and organisational data.
Key areas covered during the session included:
- Common cyber security risks
- Phishing attacks and how to identify them
- Password hygiene and safe password practices
- Protection of personal and organisational data
- Practical steps for maintaining digital security
Month-Long Cyber Security Awareness Campaign
As part of Cyber Security Awareness Month 2026, IREDA will organise a series of awareness activities throughout October.
The campaign will include:
- Awareness sessions
- Cyber security quizzes
- Essay-writing competition
- Expert talks
These activities are designed to strengthen cyber hygiene among employees and encourage responsible digital practices.

The Cyber Security Awareness Month initiative is part of IREDA’s efforts to promote greater awareness of cyber risks and strengthen digital security across the organisation.
