New Delhi: The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) held its 39th Annual General Meeting (AGM) through video conferencing from its Corporate Office in New Delhi.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, CMD and Director (Finance), IREDA.
Addressing shareholders and stakeholders, Dr. Mohanty highlighted IREDA’s strong performance during FY 2025-26 and outlined the company’s plans to expand its financing portfolio in emerging clean energy segments.
IREDA Loan Book Reaches ₹93,069 Crore
Dr. Mohanty said IREDA’s loan book reached ₹93,069 crore during FY 2025-26, maintaining a 29% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) since FY 2021-22.
The company reported strong growth across key financial parameters.
Key FY 2025-26 Performance
- Loan book: ₹93,069 crore
- Loan sanctions: ₹51,883 crore
- Loan disbursements: ₹34,946 crore
- PAT and total income CAGR: Around 31% since FY22
- Net worth: ₹13,781 crore
- CRAR: 20.59%
The company’s loan sanctions of ₹51,883 crore and disbursements of ₹34,946 crore during the financial year reflected continued financing activity in the renewable energy sector.
IREDA’s profit after tax and total income have grown at around 31% CAGR since FY22, while its net worth increased to ₹13,781 crore.

IREDA to Expand Financing in Emerging Energy Segments
Outlining the company’s future plans, Dr. Mohanty said IREDA will increase financing for emerging segments of the clean energy ecosystem.
The focus areas will include:
- Battery energy storage
- Pumped storage
- Green hydrogen
- Smart meters
The expansion is aimed at supporting newer technologies and infrastructure that can contribute to the development of India’s renewable energy ecosystem.
Global Financing to Expand Through GIFT City Subsidiary
IREDA also plans to expand its global financing activities through its subsidiary in GIFT City.
The company will simultaneously work on improving the ease of doing business for borrowers by introducing greater digitisation and simplified processes.
These measures are intended to make IREDA’s financing processes more efficient and accessible for renewable energy developers and other stakeholders.
IREDA Releases First-Ever ESG Report
A key highlight of the 39th AGM was the release of IREDA’s first-ever Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report for FY 2025-26.
Dr. Mohanty, along with IREDA’s Board of Directors, released the report during the AGM.
The ESG report outlines IREDA’s efforts to integrate sustainability and responsible business practices into its operations.
It covers the company’s performance across the three key ESG dimensions:
- Environmental
- Social
- Governance
According to IREDA, the report reflects its focus on responsible growth and transparent governance while highlighting its role in supporting India’s Net Zero ambition and Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) commitments.
CMD Addresses Shareholders’ Queries
During the AGM, Dr. Mohanty also responded to queries raised by shareholders.
The meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to review IREDA’s financial performance, discuss its future growth plans and understand the company’s sustainability initiatives.
With a growing loan book, expansion into emerging clean energy segments and the release of its first ESG report, IREDA is continuing to strengthen its role in financing India’s renewable energy transition.
