Ranchi: In a major reshuffle, the Jharkhand state government has transferred a total of 48 IPS officers, including SSPs and SPs of 14 districts. The transfers, which aim to enhance administrative efficiency, have been issued by the Home, Prison, and Disaster Management Department late on Tuesday night.

The reshuffle comes a day after the government appointed new deputy commissioners (DCs) in 20 districts. Notably, the changes include key officers from both the police and administrative sectors.

District-Level Changes

The districts affected by these changes include Pakur, Garhwa, Lohardaga, Simdega, Hazaribagh, Jamtara, Godda, West Singhbhum (Chaibasa), Gumla, Khunti, Bokaro, Chatra, as well as the SSPs of Jamshedpur and Dhanbad. In addition, key administrative shifts involve ADG Priya Dubey and IG Prabhat Kumar receiving additional charges in different capacities.

Key Transfers

2004 batch IPS officer Amol V. Homkar, previously IG Operations, has been moved to the post of IG Railways.

ADG Priya Dubey will now hold the additional charge of ADG Modernisation cum Training.

IG Special Branch Prabhat Kumar will also handle the additional charge of IG JAP.

ADG Railways Tadasha Mishra has been appointed Special Secretary in the Home Prison and Disaster Management Department.

ADG Operations Sanjay Anandrao Lathkar is now the new ADG Railways.

Ajeet Kumar: From SP City Dhanbad to SP City Ranchi.

Praveen Pushkar: From SP Rail to SP Rural Ranchi.

Specific District Changes

Kusum Punia: From SP Special Branch to Commandant JAP-9, Sahibganj.

Kishor Kaushal: From SSP Jamshedpur to Commandant JAP-7, Hazaribagh.

Piyush Pandey: From Commandant JAP-10 to SSP Jamshedpur.

Nidhi Dwivedi: From SP CID to SP Pakur.

Additional Administrative Shifts

Rajkumar Mehta: From SP City to SP Jamtara.

Mukesh Kumar: From Commandant CISF Bokaro to SP Godda.

Rakesh Ranjan: From Commandant JAP-1 to SP West Singhbhum (Chaibasa).

All transferred officers have been instructed to join their new postings immediately, while those not assigned elsewhere are directed to report to the Police Headquarters.

These transfers are part of an ongoing effort to streamline governance, improve law enforcement, and ensure better security management across the state.
