Appointment of CDPOs and Female Supervisors

A total of:

  • 61 CDPOs (Child Development Project Officers)
  • 314 Female Supervisors

were given appointment letters at the ceremony.

These officers will play a key role in implementing child development, nutrition, and welfare programs across rural and urban areas of Jharkhand.

Tackling Malnutrition Remains a Priority

CM Soren expressed concern over the persistent issue of malnutrition in the state, particularly in rural regions.

He urged the newly appointed officers to take a proactive role in ensuring that nutrition-related schemes reach every eligible household. He stressed that timely intervention is crucial to preventing long-term health issues among children.

The government aims to strengthen its grassroots delivery system to address this challenge effectively.

Ensuring Last-Mile Delivery of Welfare Schemes

Highlighting Jharkhand’s social structure, the Chief Minister noted that many communities, including tribal, Dalit, and economically weaker sections, still face barriers in accessing government services.

He instructed officers to ensure:

  • Effective implementation of welfare schemes
  • Last-mile delivery of services
  • Transparent and accountable administration
  • Special attention to women and children in remote areas

He also emphasized that small issues, if ignored, often grow into larger social and health problems.

Performance Ranking and Accountability System

To improve administrative efficiency, the Chief Minister announced a new performance monitoring system.

Key Measures:

  • Ranking of CDPOs and supervisors based on performance
  • Recognition and rewards for top performers
  • Strict monitoring of misuse or negligence
  • Encouragement for working in remote and underserved areas

This system is expected to improve accountability and motivation among field officers.

Government’s Focus on Women’s Financial Strength

State Finance Minister also highlighted ongoing welfare initiatives, including the “Maiya Samman Yojana”, under which 52 lakh women receive ₹2,500 monthly assistance.

He stated that the new appointments will further strengthen women’s participation in decision-making and administrative processes, improving both governance and economic empowerment.

Administrative Significance of the Recruitment Drive

Officials present at the event noted that this large-scale recruitment will:

  • Strengthen the child development system
  • Improve implementation of nutrition programs
  • Enhance administrative reach in rural areas
  • Promote women leadership in governance

The event was attended by senior government officials, including the Chief Secretary and other dignitaries.

Step Toward Social Transformation

The appointment of hundreds of female supervisors and CDPOs is seen as a major step toward building a more inclusive and efficient administrative system in Jharkhand. The initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to women empowerment, child welfare, and grassroots development.

About Jharkhand Government Initiative

Hemant Soren-led administration has been focusing on social welfare schemes, women empowerment programs, and rural development initiatives. Through large-scale recruitment and financial support programs, the state aims to improve governance delivery and uplift marginalized communities across Jharkhand.
