The Jharkhand government has carried out a large-scale reshuffle of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, assigning fresh responsibilities to more than 35 officials across the state. The move, announced through a notification issued by the Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language Department, is aimed at improving administrative functioning and strengthening implementation of development schemes.

Several districts have received new deputy commissioners, while officers in key departments such as health, education and rural development have also been shifted.

New Deputy Commissioners Appointed in Deoghar and Khunti

Among the major changes, Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania has been transferred from Khunti and appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Deoghar. Mohammad Javed Hussain, who was serving as Additional Development Commissioner in Palamu, has now been posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Khunti.

The reshuffle also affected East Singhbhum and Garhwa districts. Shekhar Jamuar has been relieved from his role as Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum and posted to the Subarnarekha Project in Jamshedpur. Ananya Mittal, who earlier served as Deputy Commissioner of Garhwa, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS).

Health and Education Departments See Key Changes

The state government has also introduced changes in important departments. Shashi Prakash Singh, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Deoghar, has been assigned a new role in the Health Department.

Kirtishree Ji has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Home, Prison and Disaster Management Department. Samira S. has been posted as Joint Secretary in the School Education and Literacy Department, while Dinesh Kumar Yadav has been given the responsibility of Joint Secretary in the Health Department.

Changes at District Council and Development Administration Level

The reshuffle includes transfers at the district council and additional development commissioner levels as well. Vishnu Shrikant Yashwant, previously Sub-Divisional Officer of Giridih, has been appointed Additional Development Commissioner-cum-Chief Executive Officer of the District Council in Godda.

Similarly, Abhishek Ranjan has been transferred from Khunti and posted as additional development commissioner-cum-chief executive officer of the district council in Gumla.

According to the state government, the administrative reshuffle has been undertaken to bring greater efficiency in governance, speed up departmental functioning and improve monitoring of development projects across Jharkhand.
