Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, has approved financial proposals worth more than ₹13,790 crore covering irrigation, power, sports, judicial services, medical education and administrative infrastructure.
The decisions taken on September 22 include major irrigation projects in Rajgarh and Neemuch, procurement of 2,800 MW of thermal power, sports complexes in 140 assembly constituencies and continued funding for several judicial and administrative schemes.
Major Push for Irrigation Projects
The Cabinet approved the continuation of the Suthalia Irrigation Project in Rajgarh from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031, with an allocation of ₹262.63 crore.
The project aims to develop irrigation capacity through micro-irrigation systems across around 40,000 hectares in Rajgarh district.
Another major approval covers the Javad-Nimach Pressurised Micro Irrigation Project. The Cabinet approved ₹4,197.58 crore for its continuation over the next five years.
The project will use pressurised micro-irrigation technology to deliver water to agricultural fields, with the focus on saving water, expanding irrigation coverage and improving agricultural productivity.
The Cabinet also approved ₹507.23 crore for the continuation of the Parvati-Rinsi Irrigation Project in Rajgarh for 2026–31. The project aims to create irrigation capacity across around 48,000 hectares through dam construction.

2,800 MW Thermal Power Procurement Approved
The Cabinet also approved the process for procurement of 2,800 MW of thermal power through a competitive bidding process.
The procurement will cover power from existing, under-construction and proposed greenfield or brownfield thermal power projects in Madhya Pradesh.
The process will follow the DBFOO model bidding documents issued by the Union Ministry of Power. The Managing Director of MP Power Management Company has been authorised to take further action in accordance with approvals and orders of the regulatory commission.
The new approval also incorporates the earlier proposal for procurement of 900 MW of thermal power, after the previous tender was cancelled.
140 Assembly Constituencies to Get Sports Complexes
A major decision was taken for sports and youth development, with the Cabinet giving in-principle approval of ₹962.50 crore for construction and operation of sports complexes in 140 assembly constituencies.
The complexes will be named Chief Minister Sports Complexes.
The plan includes the creation of permanent helipads at the main grounds. According to the proposal, these facilities will support smooth helicopter movement under the PM Shri scheme.
The sports infrastructure is expected to expand access to organised sporting facilities and provide more opportunities for young people across different parts of the state.
Continued Support for Village Courts and Legal Services
The Cabinet approved the continuation of the Gram Nyayalaya Scheme for the 16th Finance Commission period from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031, with an allocation of ₹554.61 crore.
The funding will cover salaries, allowances and office expenses of judicial officers and court staff working in village courts. These courts will continue to handle cases presented under the applicable legal framework.
The Madhya Pradesh Legal Aid and Legal Advice Board scheme was also approved for continuation during the same five-year period, with ₹524 crore allocated.
In addition, ₹1,000 crore was approved for the continuation of the scheme for establishing family courts.
The Cabinet also sanctioned ₹2,015.60 crore for the continuation of the High Court-related “High Court (Charged)” scheme for 2026–31.
₹969.87 Crore for Commercial Tax Department Schemes
Six schemes under the Commercial Tax Department have also received approval for continuation from financial year 2026–27 to 2030–31.
A total of ₹969.87 crore has been sanctioned for these schemes, including:
- ₹62 crore for the Sampada e-Registry scheme
- ₹664 crore for expenditure related to stamp sales
- ₹175 crore for stamp costs
- ₹12.50 crore for maintenance of departmental assets
- ₹46.37 crore for the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme
- ₹10 crore for construction and expansion of district and sub-registrar office buildings
These provisions are aimed at maintaining and strengthening digital, land-record and registration-related services.
New Teaching Posts at Indore Dental College
The Cabinet also approved the creation of 13 new teaching posts at Government Dental College, Indore.
These include one professor, 10 associate professors and two assistant professors.
The move is linked to plans to increase BDS seats from 63 to 100 and MDS seats from 35 to 44. The additional teaching posts are expected to involve an annual expenditure of around ₹3.78 crore.
The decision is intended to support the expansion of medical and dental education capacity in the state.
New Administrative Offices in Three Districts
The Cabinet also approved new Public Health Engineering Department offices in the newly formed districts of Maihar and Pandhurna, along with a sub-divisional office in Chitrangi block of Singrauli district.
For Maihar, five new permanent posts and two outsourced office assistant positions have been approved. The Uchehra development block will remain under the Public Health Engineering sub-division at Satna.
Similarly, five permanent posts and two outsourced office assistant positions have been approved for the new district office in Pandhurna.
For the proposed sub-divisional office in Chitrangi, three permanent posts and one outsourced office assistant position have been approved.
Together, the Cabinet decisions span irrigation, energy, sports, justice, medical education and local administration, with the government positioning the approvals as part of a broader effort to strengthen infrastructure and public services across Madhya Pradesh.
