New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has allotted the 2016 IPS cadre to seven Madhya Pradesh Police officers of the 1998 batch, following their completion of 27 years of service.
The officers who have been allotted the IPS cadre are Nimisha Pandey, Malay Jain, Amit Saxena, Manisha Pathak Soni, Suman Gurjar, Swayam Sachhi Saraf and Samar Verma.
The cadre allotment marks an important milestone in the careers of the seven officers, who have served in the Madhya Pradesh Police for nearly three decades before being allotted the IPS cadre.
Seven MP Police Officers Get 2016 IPS Cadre
The Union Home Ministry has granted the 2016 IPS cadre to the seven officers from the Madhya Pradesh Police.
All seven officers belong to the 1998 batch of the Madhya Pradesh Police and have completed 27 years of service.
The development brings them into the IPS cadre with the year 2016, despite their original entry into the state police service being in 1998.
The officers are:

From 1998 MP Police Batch to 2016 IPS Cadre
The seven officers began their careers in the Madhya Pradesh Police as members of the 1998 batch. After more than two and a half decades of service, their induction into the IPS has now been formalised through the allotment of the 2016 IPS cadre.
The development is significant because the officers have spent the bulk of their careers serving within the state police system before becoming part of the Indian Police Service.
Their long tenure in the Madhya Pradesh Police spans approximately 27 years, giving them extensive experience of policing and administration at the state level.
The allotment of the IPS cadre provides formal recognition of their induction into the country’s premier police service and places them within the IPS framework from the allotted cadre year of 2016.
Seven Officers Included in the Latest Cadre Allotment
The latest allotment covers officers from different backgrounds within the Madhya Pradesh Police but places all seven in the same 1998 state police batch.
Nimisha Pandey, Malay Jain, Amit Saxena, Manisha Pathak Soni, Suman Gurjar, Swayam Sachhi Saraf and Samar Verma are now part of the 2016 IPS cadre following the Union Home Ministry’s decision.
The cadre allotment follows the completion of the required service period and the process through which eligible State Police Service officers are inducted into the IPS.
A Career Milestone After Nearly Three Decades
For the seven officers, the allotment comes after a lengthy career in the Madhya Pradesh Police.
Having entered the state police service in 1998, they have accumulated nearly three decades of policing experience before receiving the IPS cadre allotment.
The move is therefore both a career transition and a change in their service status, bringing their long experience in the state police into the IPS cadre.
With the 2016 cadre year allotted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the seven officers join the IPS cadre alongside officers who were inducted through the regular recruitment and promotion processes associated with that cadre year.
