Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has highlighted the significance of Vijayadashami as a festival symbolising the triumph of truth, justice and the righteous use of power, while emphasising that India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is increasingly recognising its strength and potential.
In a message reflecting on the cultural, spiritual and national significance of Vijayadashami, the Chief Minister connected the ideals of Lord Shri Ram with India’s contemporary commitment to national security, good governance and social unity.
He praised the courage and military excellence demonstrated by the Indian Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor and called upon citizens to honour the sacrifices of soldiers and their families by fulfilling their own responsibilities towards the nation.
Dr. Yadav also underlined the Madhya Pradesh government’s commitment to ensuring women’s safety, creating opportunities for young people, supporting farmers and making public services accessible to the most vulnerable sections of society.
Vijayadashami Symbolises the Victory of Truth and Justice
Explaining the deeper meaning of Vijayadashami, Dr. Yadav described the festival as a reflection of India’s civilisational consciousness and its enduring belief in the victory of righteousness over injustice.
He observed that the festival reminds society that injustice, however powerful it may appear, cannot permanently overcome the determination of those committed to truth.
According to the Chief Minister, the glory of falsehood is temporary, while the strength of truth remains eternal. The victory of Lord Shri Ram represents this fundamental principle.
He emphasised that believing in truth alone is insufficient unless individuals and society also possess the courage to defend it.
The pursuit of justice, he said, can succeed only when people collectively resolve to resist injustice and stand firmly for what is right.

Lord Shri Ram’s Ideals Offer a Path to Nation-Building
Drawing upon the life and teachings of Lord Shri Ram, the Chief Minister said that the Indian tradition has always associated the exercise of power with public welfare and moral responsibility.
He described Lord Ram’s bow as a symbol of hope and protection for the oppressed and a warning against those who perpetrate injustice.
Dr. Yadav emphasised that Lord Ram’s courage was always guided by maryada, or righteous conduct, and that his decisions were directed towards the welfare of society.
Referring to Lord Ram’s journey during exile, he highlighted how people from different communities and sections of society came together in pursuit of a common purpose.
This spirit of faith, unity and collective effort, he observed, demonstrates that even the greatest challenges can be overcome when society acts with determination and shared responsibility.
The Chief Minister identified these values as essential foundations of India’s cultural consciousness and nation-building process.
Shastra Poojan Reflects the Responsibility That Comes with Power
Dr. Yadav also explained the significance of Shastra Poojan, the traditional worship of weapons performed on Vijayadashami.
He said the ritual is not merely a celebration of physical strength but a reminder of the responsibility that accompanies power.
According to him, the tradition reinforces the commitment to protecting vulnerable people, resisting injustice and using one’s capabilities for the welfare of humanity.
He stressed that those entrusted with weapons must exercise restraint, while those responsible for governance and decision-making must act with compassion.
The Chief Minister observed that strength becomes worthy of public trust only when it is accompanied by discipline, restraint and righteous conduct.
This principle, he said, remains relevant not only to soldiers and security personnel but also to administrators, public representatives and citizens.
PM Modi’s Leadership Strengthening India’s National Confidence
Connecting the traditional ideals of Vijayadashami with contemporary India, Dr. Yadav praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the growing confidence of the nation.
He said India’s unwavering commitment to national security and the courage demonstrated by its Armed Forces have become sources of pride for citizens.
The Chief Minister emphasised that India believes in peace, cooperation and coexistence but remains equally determined to protect its sovereignty, national honour and the security of its people.
He argued that a country’s commitment to peace becomes more meaningful when supported by the capabilities required to safeguard its interests.
According to Dr. Yadav, a strong and vigilant India is better positioned not only to protect its citizens but also to contribute towards global peace.
His remarks presented national security and peaceful coexistence as complementary objectives rather than opposing principles.
Operation Sindoor Demonstrated Courage and Military Excellence
The Chief Minister specifically referred to Operation Sindoor while praising the courage, precision and professionalism of the Indian Armed Forces.
He said the operation demonstrated India’s determination to protect national security through targeted military action against terrorist infrastructure.
Dr. Yadav described the soldiers involved as examples of courage and dedication, stating that their actions translated the country’s resolve to safeguard its security into decisive measures.
He said the bravery of Indian military personnel strengthens national confidence and inspires citizens to place the interests of the country above personal considerations.
On the occasion of Vijayadashami, he urged people to salute the Armed Forces and draw inspiration from their unwavering sense of duty.
He further emphasised that respect for soldiers must extend beyond words of appreciation and should be reflected in the conduct and responsibilities of ordinary citizens.
Soldiers and Their Families Deserve the Nation’s Gratitude
Highlighting the sacrifices made by military personnel, Dr. Yadav drew attention to the lives of soldiers deployed along India’s borders.
He observed that while families across the country celebrate festivals together, many soldiers remain far from their homes, carrying out their responsibilities in difficult conditions.
The safety and freedom with which citizens celebrate, he said, are made possible by the vigilance and dedication of those guarding the nation’s borders.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the sacrifices made by military families, particularly those who endure long periods of separation from their loved ones.
He called for sustained respect and recognition for soldiers, veer naris (war widows) and military families.
According to him, remembering their sacrifices should encourage every citizen to become more conscious of civic duties and responsibilities towards society.
Good Governance in Madhya Pradesh Guided by Welfare and Public Dignity
Turning to governance in Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Yadav said his government’s priorities are rooted in the dignity, safety and welfare of every citizen.
He emphasised that the administration is committed to creating conditions in which women feel safe, young people receive opportunities to develop their abilities and farmers benefit from their hard work.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of ensuring that government assistance reaches people who need it most.
He said effective governance must be measured not merely through policies and announcements but through tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens.
According to Dr. Yadav, timely justice, accessible public services and opportunities for economic and social progress are essential elements of a responsive administration.
He connected these governance priorities with the ideal of Ram Rajya, describing it as a system in which justice, welfare and public dignity are reflected in everyday life.
The Chief Minister maintained that the true success of governance lies in reaching the last person in society and ensuring that development benefits are distributed fairly.
Vijayadashami Calls for Introspection and Social Reform
Beyond the ceremonial celebration of Vijayadashami, Dr. Yadav urged citizens to use the occasion for personal and collective introspection.
He said the burning of Ravana’s effigy should symbolise not only the defeat of evil but also a commitment to overcoming negative tendencies within individuals and society.
The Chief Minister identified arrogance, greed, discrimination and indifference towards duties as weaknesses that must be addressed.
He called upon citizens to make honesty an essential part of their conduct, harmony a guiding principle in their relationships and discipline a regular feature of daily life.
According to him, social unity is among India’s greatest strengths, and mutual respect among citizens is fundamental to national progress.
He emphasised that a shared commitment to the national interest, combined with respect for every individual, strengthens the country’s internal resilience.
Strength, Capability and Truth Must Guide India’s Future
Concluding his message, Dr. Yadav urged citizens to draw inspiration from the ideals of Lord Shri Ram, the strength of Maa Durga and the courage of India’s soldiers.
He said Vijayadashami should inspire people not only to sharpen their weapons but also to strengthen their determination to uphold truth, defend justice and serve the nation.
The Chief Minister called for a collective commitment to fulfilling duties, strengthening social harmony and contributing to India’s development.
He identified three guiding principles for the country’s future: security through strength, prosperity through capability and victory through truth. Dr. Yadav expressed confidence that these values, supported by national unity and responsible citizenship, could help India realise its full potential.
He also extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of Vijayadashami.
