Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Transfers ₹203 Crore to 9,149 Workers Under Sambal Yojana 2.0

11th instalment released ahead of Raksha Bandhan; beneficiaries include families of workers who died naturally or in accidents and those facing disabilities.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday transferred ₹203 crore in ex-gratia assistance to 9,149 beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana 2.0.

The assistance was released as the 11th instalment of the scheme through a single-click transfer from the Chief Minister’s residence. The payment was made ahead of Raksha Bandhan, bringing financial support to thousands of worker families across the state.

CM Mohan Yadav Says Government Stands With Workers

Addressing workers through video conferencing, CM Mohan Yadav said the welfare, dignity and security of workers remain a priority for the state government.

He said workers contribute significantly to the development of Madhya Pradesh and the government will stand with families during difficult circumstances, including the death of a breadwinner or sudden financial distress.

The Chief Minister said Sambal Yojana 2.0 provides financial support to eligible workers during challenging times and helps families deal with unexpected hardships.

According to the state government, the Sambal scheme has provided support to more than 1.84 crore workers in Madhya Pradesh.

11th Instalment Covers 9,149 Beneficiaries

The latest instalment includes beneficiaries receiving assistance under different categories:

  • 8,027 beneficiaries — Ex-gratia assistance in cases of natural death
  • 1,034 beneficiaries — Ex-gratia assistance in cases of accidental death
  • 66 beneficiaries — Partial permanent disability
  • 22 beneficiaries — Permanent disability

The state government said the latest payment also forms part of its effort to clear the backlog of pending assistance under labour and other welfare schemes.

Sambal Scheme Assistance Amount

Under Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana 2.0, eligible workers and their families receive financial assistance under different circumstances.

The assistance includes:

  • ₹5,000 for funeral expenses
  • ₹2 lakh in case of natural death
  • ₹4 lakh in case of accidental death
  • ₹1 lakh for partial permanent disability
  • ₹2 lakh for permanent disability

The assistance is provided to eligible beneficiaries or their nearest family members, depending on the nature of the claim.

Government Expands Sambal Scheme Benefits

CM Mohan Yadav said the government has expanded the scope of the Sambal scheme to address changing employment patterns and the needs of worker families.

Gig and platform workers have also been included under Sambal Yojana 2.0 to provide them greater economic security.

Eligible Sambal beneficiaries have also been linked with the Ayushman Bharat Niramayam Yojana to support access to healthcare.

The government is also supporting the education of children of eligible workers studying in professional courses such as:

  • Medicine
  • Law
  • Engineering
  • Polytechnic

₹16,000 Assistance for Pregnant Worker Women

The state government is providing ₹16,000 financial assistance to eligible pregnant women beneficiaries under the Sambal scheme.

The assistance is intended to reduce financial concerns during pregnancy and support better nutrition and care for mothers and children.

The scheme also provides disability assistance to workers who face temporary or permanent disability:

  • ₹1 lakh for temporary disability
  • ₹2 lakh for permanent disability

Focus on Worker Safety and Skill Development

CM Yadav said the state government is also focusing on the dignity, safety and skill development of workers.

He highlighted the implementation of the ‘Shram Shakti Sanhita’, under which Madhya Pradesh has become the first state to introduce the initiative, according to the state government.

The government has also introduced ‘Shram Star Rating’ to strengthen attention towards worker safety and dignity.

The ‘Shramana’ scheme has been launched with the objective of connecting workers with cooperatives and promoting self-reliance through their skills.

Government Working to Clear Sambal Backlog

Panchayat and Rural Development and Labour Minister Prahlad Singh Patel also participated virtually in the programme.

He said the state government is committed to clearing the backlog of Sambal beneficiaries. According to him, payments under the latest 11th instalment have been made up to January 1, 2026.

Labour Secretary Rani Batad and other departmental officials were also present during the assistance distribution programme.
