Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav called for faster development through innovation, skills, manufacturing and entrepreneurship as experts and representatives of leading institutions presented their plans for building a Samriddh Madhya Pradesh@2047.

The state-level conclave on “Contribution of Centrally Funded Institutions for Samriddh Madhya Pradesh@2047” was organised by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis (AIGGPA) at the Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium in Bhopal. The theme of the conclave was “One Institute–One Promise.”

CM Mohan Yadav Highlights India’s Growing Strength

Dr Yadav said India is passing through an important phase under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Comparing the Prime Minister’s role with Jamvant reminding Lord Hanuman of his strength, he said India has increasingly recognised its own capabilities.

The Chief Minister pointed to developments such as semiconductor manufacturing in Madhya Pradesh as evidence of the changing economic landscape. He said states now have greater opportunities to contribute to India’s growth.

Agriculture, Irrigation Among Key Challenges

Dr Yadav identified declining interest among young people in agriculture as a major challenge for Madhya Pradesh, given the state’s agriculture-based economy.

He also highlighted irrigation and river-linking as important areas for future development. Referring to the Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) project, he said it would benefit 15 districts each in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Skills and Innovation to Drive Future Growth

The Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh needs to strengthen manufacturing while expanding research, artificial intelligence, infrastructure and digital governance.

He highlighted human capital, employment, investment, innovation, entrepreneurship and balanced regional development as key pillars of the state’s growth.

“Skills are the new currency and innovation is the new economy,” Dr Yadav said, stressing the need to make Madhya Pradesh a stronger centre for research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Experts Call for Wider Participation

Chief Secretary Ashok Barnwal said the Samriddh Madhya Pradesh@2047 Vision Document contributes to the larger goal of Viksit Bharat.

He said achieving the 2047 target will require participation from civil society, entrepreneurs, institutions and citizens. He also stressed the need for productive investments that create value and connect Madhya Pradesh with national value chains.

According to him, 2029 will serve as an important checkpoint on the journey towards the 2047 vision.

Central Institutions Present Development Plans

Representatives of several institutions outlined areas where they could support Madhya Pradesh’s development.

The NITTR representative described the state as a favourable location for semiconductor technology development, while the IIIT Bhopal representative highlighted the need to strengthen cybersecurity and data infrastructure.

Major General Vikas from the Indian Army emphasised drone technology for greater self-reliance in defence. MANIT highlighted its work on homestay training, while LNIP discussed specialised training for physical education and sports.

AMPRI said it is providing scientific training to young people to improve employment opportunities and will contribute to research on critical elements.

Smart Village Initiative Gets Push

AMPRI has adopted Janakpur village in Raisen district under its CSR programme and is working towards its development as a smart village.

The institute plans to facilitate technology support and an investment of around ₹4–5 crore over the next two years through CSR. Janakpur is among five selected villages in the country targeted for smart village development.

AMPRI plans to continue CSR initiatives for Simhastha 2028. IIT Indore, Eicher Bhopal, IIM Indore and SPA also shared development plans.

The conclave focused on turning the Samriddh Madhya Pradesh@2047 vision into practical collaboration in technology, skills, research, employment and innovation.
