Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has urged farmers across the state to ensure that they get their Farmer ID under the campaign launched from August 20. He said government teams will visit farmers directly to facilitate the registration process, eliminating the need to travel long distances or stand in queues.
The Chief Minister made the appeal while virtually addressing the Balram Krishi Mahotsav organised at the Krishi Upaj Mandi, Piparsama, in Shivpuri district from New Delhi on Saturday.
Farmer ID Campaign Launched Across Madhya Pradesh
CM Mohan Yadav said the Farmer ID registration campaign began in Madhya Pradesh on August 20.
He urged all farmers to get their Farmer ID made and said government teams would reach farmers at their doorstep to complete the process.
According to the Chief Minister, the initiative is aimed at making the process easier and more accessible for farmers.

Zero-Interest Advance Fertiliser Facility for Farmers
The Chief Minister said farmers do not need to worry about the availability of fertilisers.
To ensure that financial constraints do not affect farmers’ access to fertilisers, the state government has decided to provide advance fertiliser at zero per cent interest.
CM Yadav said the government is committed to ensuring that farmers do not face financial difficulties during the agricultural season.
CM Yadav Encourages Farmers to Diversify Income Sources
The Chief Minister encouraged farmers in Shivpuri and across Madhya Pradesh not to remain dependent only on traditional crops.
He urged farmers to explore additional income-generating activities such as:
- Horticulture
- Dairy farming
- Fisheries
- Animal husbandry
- Homestays and rural tourism
He said these activities can provide farmers with additional sources of income and contribute to greater economic prosperity.
Shivpuri’s Agricultural Potential Highlighted
CM Yadav highlighted the agricultural potential of Shivpuri district and praised the hard work of its farmers.
He specifically noted that groundnuts produced by farmers in Shivpuri have gained recognition across the country.
He also highlighted the availability of water from the Ken-Betwa, Parvati, Sindh and Mahua rivers, describing the water resources as a major advantage for agriculture in the region.
The Chief Minister said the government would continue working with farmers to make Shivpuri a leading agricultural district.
Loan Repayment Deadline of March 31 Removed
CM Yadav also announced relief regarding agricultural loan repayment.
Earlier, farmers were required to repay their loans by March 31. According to the Chief Minister, this deadline has now been removed.
Farmers will now be able to repay their loan amount at any time within one year, providing them with greater flexibility based on their income and crop cycles.
E-Vikas 2.0 to Make Fertiliser Purchase Easier
The Chief Minister said the E-Vikas system has been made more effective, simple and farmer-friendly.
Under E-Vikas 2.0, farmers will be able to purchase fertiliser according to their individual requirements.
A key change is that farmers will be able to purchase any one fertiliser of their choice without being required to purchase it as part of a mandatory combination.
The system is intended to make fertiliser distribution more convenient and aligned with farmers’ needs.
Daytime Power Supply for Chickpea and Sugarcane Farmers
CM Yadav also announced that farmers who cultivate chickpea or sugarcane next year will receive electricity for irrigation during the daytime throughout the required period.
The move is aimed at ending the difficulties faced by farmers who currently have to irrigate their fields at night.
The Chief Minister said the daytime power supply would reduce the need for farmers to stay awake throughout the night for irrigation.
Tourism and Homestays Can Create New Opportunities
The Chief Minister also highlighted the growing potential of tourism-related activities in Shivpuri.
He said the homestay concept is gradually gaining popularity and can provide additional income opportunities for farmers.
He also pointed to the presence of Madhav National Park in the district, saying that tourism development can further contribute to the local economy and create opportunities for farmers.
PM-KISAN and State Support for Farmers
CM Yadav said farmers are receiving a combined ₹12,000 per year from the Central and state governments under farmer assistance schemes.
The financial support can help farmers meet essential agricultural expenses, including the purchase of fertilisers and seeds.
The Chief Minister also extended Raksha Bandhan greetings to the farmers of Shivpuri, particularly women beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna scheme, and said the scheme’s assistance had been transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts ahead of the festival.
Balram Krishi Mahotsav Attended by Farmers and Public Representatives
The Balram Krishi Mahotsav in Shivpuri was attended by several elected representatives and a large number of farmers.
