CM Mohan Yadav Launches ₹356.89 Crore Development Projects in Alirajpur, Announces Major Farmer Welfare Initiatives 

At Balram Krishi Mahotsav in Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar, Madhya Pradesh CM inaugurated ₹53.55 crore works and laid foundation stones for ₹303.34 crore projects while announcing major farmer and tribal welfare initiatives.

Alirajpur/Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav demonstrated his commitment towards tribal communities and development initiatives by reaching Alirajpur’s Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar despite adverse weather conditions. After the helicopter pilot refused to fly due to poor weather, the Chief Minister travelled nearly three hours by road to attend the “Balram Krishi Mahotsav” and pay tribute to freedom fighter Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad on his birth anniversary.

During the event, CM Mohan Yadav inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹356.89 crore, including ₹303.34 crore worth of new projects and the inauguration of completed works worth ₹53.55 crore.

CM Mohan Yadav Travels by Road After Helicopter Flight Cancelled

The Chief Minister was scheduled to travel from Indore to Alirajpur by helicopter. However, the pilot advised against the flight due to unfavourable weather conditions.

Despite the weather concerns, Dr. Mohan Yadav decided to continue with his visit and said that no difficulty could stop him from meeting tribal communities and paying homage to Chandrashekhar Azad.

He travelled around three hours by road to reach Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar and participate in the agricultural festival.

₹356.89 Crore Development Package Announced for Alirajpur

At the Balram Krishi Mahotsav, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated and laid foundation stones for multiple development projects.

The key highlights include:

  • ₹303.34 crore development works for which foundation stones were laid
  • ₹53.55 crore completed projects inaugurated
  • Total development package of ₹356.89 crore

The Chief Minister also distributed benefits under various government schemes and interacted with beneficiaries.

Women Self-Help Groups Receive ₹2.10 Crore Loan Support

During the programme, CM Mohan Yadav distributed loans worth ₹2.10 crore to women members of Self-Help Groups.

He also honoured:

  • Organic farmers
  • Meritorious students
  • Social media influencers

Beneficiaries of different government welfare schemes were also provided assistance during the event.

PM Modi’s Leadership Bringing Change in Tribal Regions: CM Yadav

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that significant changes are being witnessed across tribal regions of Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said areas including:

  • Alirajpur
  • Jhabua
  • Mandla
  • Dindori
  • Balaghat

hold special importance for the state government and are considered like sacred places due to their contribution and cultural heritage.

Paying tribute at Bhabra, the birthplace of Chandrashekhar Azad, the Chief Minister remembered tribal freedom fighters who played an important role in India’s independence movement.

He mentioned the contributions of:

  • Jitu Kirad
  • Raja Aliya Bhil
  • Krantiveer Tantya Mama

and honoured their sacrifices for the nation.

Government Focused on Youth Welfare and Tribal Development

CM Mohan Yadav said the Balram Krishi Mahotsav has been organised after successful events in:

  • Indore
  • Dhar
  • Jhabua
  • Barwani

He praised Alirajpur farmers for maintaining their determination despite lower rainfall this year.

The Chief Minister highlighted several welfare achievements:

  • More than 10,000 people in Alirajpur received land ownership documents under the Swamitva Yojana
  • Over 90,000 poor and needy families received houses under PM Awas Yojana
  • More than 5.70 lakh people are receiving free food grains

He said the state government remains committed to the welfare of women and youth, including financial assistance for Ladli Behna Yojana beneficiaries, who receive ₹1,500 monthly support before the 15th of every month.

New Agriculture and Irrigation Projects to Boost Farmers’ Income

The Chief Minister said the government is taking several steps to improve farmers’ prosperity during Kisan Kalyan Varsh 2026.

He highlighted that:

  • 47,852 farmers in Alirajpur have received crop insurance benefits
  • New irrigation projects are being developed to ensure adequate water availability
  • The ₹1,100 crore Dahi Narmada Pipeline Project is nearing completion

The pipeline project is expected to be inaugurated after Diwali this year and will provide major benefits for agricultural activities.

Government Promotes Dairy Farming and Natural Agriculture

Dr. Mohan Yadav said the state government is encouraging animal husbandry and milk production to increase farmers’ income.

Taking inspiration from Gujarat’s dairy success through Amul, Madhya Pradesh has launched initiatives to promote cattle rearing.

Under the new dairy promotion scheme:

  • Farmers establishing dairies with 25 improved breed cows
  • Can receive subsidies of up to ₹10 lakh

The Chief Minister also encouraged farmers to adopt natural farming practices and assured that electricity for irrigation will increasingly be provided during daytime hours.

Major Infrastructure Projects Announced for Alirajpur

The Chief Minister announced several important development projects for the district, including:

  • 64 road projects worth ₹130 crore in Bhabra development block
  • ₹22 crore Sandipani School at Kadwania
  • Kondwa Irrigation Project, which will provide irrigation benefits to around 70,000 farmers
  • Launch of the Dahi Narmada Pipeline Irrigation Project after Diwali

He also announced plans for:

  • A grand park dedicated to Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad in Bhabra
  • Development of Rani Kajal Mata Lok
  • Expansion of residential facilities in girls’ hostels

UCC Passed While Respecting Tribal Traditions: CM Mohan Yadav

Speaking about the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the state government has passed the UCC Bill with the principle that all citizens should receive equal treatment.

He clarified that while the law promotes equality among citizens of all religions, tribal communities have been kept outside the scope of UCC while respecting their traditional customs and practices.

Alirajpur Development Focus Strengthened Through Government Initiatives

The Balram Krishi Mahotsav highlighted the Madhya Pradesh government’s focus on agriculture, tribal welfare, infrastructure development, and employment generation.

With new projects worth ₹356.89 crore, irrigation expansion, farmer support schemes, and community-focused initiatives, the government aims to accelerate development in Alirajpur and strengthen opportunities for rural and tribal communities.
