Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced that Public Service Commission (PSC) examinations in the state will now be conducted twice a year, providing more opportunities to young aspirants preparing for competitive examinations.
The Chief Minister also announced that 2027 will be observed as the ‘Year of Youth’ in Madhya Pradesh, with a series of initiatives planned around education, employment, research, entrepreneurship, skill development and sports.
The announcements were made during a CM Youth Conclave organised at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal, which witnessed the participation of around 20,000 young people.
CM Mohan Yadav Interacts With 20,000 Youths
The Youth Conclave brought together a large number of young participants from across the state. Popular singer Jubin Nautiyal performed at the event and entertained the gathering.
Following the performance, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav interacted with the youth and addressed their questions and concerns.
During the interaction, the Chief Minister adopted an informal approach, walking across the stage while speaking with young participants and discussing issues related to education, employment, entrepreneurship, technology and sports.
PSC Examinations to Be Held Twice a Year
One of the key announcements at the conclave was the decision to conduct the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) examination twice a year.
The Chief Minister said that while the PSC examination had earlier been conducted once annually, the government is now working towards holding it twice every year.
The move is aimed at creating more opportunities for young people seeking government employment and reducing the waiting period between examination cycles.
For thousands of aspirants preparing for state civil services and other PSC-related examinations, the increased frequency could provide additional opportunities to appear for the recruitment process.
2027 Declared ‘Year of Youth’
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also announced that 2027 would be observed as the ‘Year of Youth’ in Madhya Pradesh.
He said preparations were being made around a range of initiatives focused on young people and their educational, professional and entrepreneurial aspirations.
As part of the proposed initiatives, the government plans to provide a monthly scholarship of ₹25,000 to students undertaking research in government colleges during 2027.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging research and providing greater support to students pursuing advanced academic work in government institutions.
12 New Universities Planned in Madhya Pradesh
The Chief Minister also said that work is underway to establish 12 new universities in the state.
The proposed institutions are expected to expand opportunities in higher education while supporting the government’s broader focus on employment and skill development.
Yadav said development work was progressing across Madhya Pradesh and that the government was working on multiple fronts to strengthen opportunities available to young people.
85,000 People Have Secured Government Jobs
Speaking about employment, the Chief Minister said that approximately 85,000 people have secured government jobs in Madhya Pradesh.
He also highlighted initiatives being undertaken in the industrial, medical education and employment sectors.
According to Yadav, Madhya Pradesh is emerging as an industrial hub, while new medical colleges are also being established in the state, creating additional opportunities for education, employment and professional development.
AI City, Knowledge MP and Startup Support
Artificial intelligence and startups also featured prominently during the interaction.
When a student asked about the government’s roadmap for AI in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Yadav said work was progressing on initiatives such as ‘AI City’ and ‘Knowledge MP’.
He also said that the government is providing grants of up to ₹5 lakh to promote startups.
At the same time, IT parks are being developed in Indore, Rewa and Ujjain, aimed at strengthening the state’s technology ecosystem and creating new opportunities for young entrepreneurs and technology professionals.
The Chief Minister further announced that efforts are underway to establish the country’s largest telecom hub in Gwalior.
Government Plans to Expand Sports Infrastructure
Sports promotion was another major focus of the Chief Minister’s interaction with the youth.
Yadav said that a large sports complex is being constructed in Bhopal, while the government also plans to build stadiums in every Assembly constituency of Madhya Pradesh.
The proposed expansion of sports infrastructure is aimed at providing young people with better facilities and encouraging greater participation in sports across the state.
CM Highlights Role of Youth
While speaking about cricket, the Chief Minister referred to the performance of young Indian players against Pakistan and highlighted the role of the younger generation in the country’s sporting achievements.
Describing Madhya Pradesh as a “youth state,” Yadav emphasised the importance of young people in shaping the state’s future.
The announcements at the Youth Conclave reflect the government’s stated focus on expanding opportunities for young people through more frequent competitive examinations, higher education institutions, research support, startups, technology, employment and sports infrastructure.
