Students Put Their Vision of India on Paper
The ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat’ initiative encouraged students to think about the kind of country they want to see in the future. Through colours, drawings and speeches, students presented ideas around cleanliness, plantation, environmental protection, water conservation, helping the poor, respect for parents and good governance.

CM Highlights Education and Student Welfare
Addressing the students, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the government is committed to improving facilities and opportunities for children. He said the state plans to replace all dilapidated school buildings over the next two years.
The government is also providing various support measures for meritorious students, including scooters, laptops, books and uniforms. Yadav also referred to the promotion of teachers whose promotions had remained pending for years and said fresh teacher recruitment would be undertaken to strengthen school education.
The participation figures highlighted at the event also underline the scale of the school network involved. The competition itself was organised across more than 42,000 schools, with students from Classes 6 to 12 taking part.
Focus on Transport and School Connectivity
The Chief Minister also highlighted the restart of the state transport bus service after a gap of 21 years. According to him, the service is intended to improve connectivity for people living in remote parts of Madhya Pradesh.
School transport was also mentioned as part of efforts to facilitate students’ movement. The broader focus, he said, is on improving access to essential services and creating better conditions for children and young people.
Youth Year 2027 to Bring More Opportunities
The programme also connected the discussion on children’s future with the state’s plans for young people. Madhya Pradesh is preparing to observe 2027 as Youth Year, with several initiatives already announced for education, employment and skills.
Yadav reiterated plans for 12 new medical colleges and 12 new skill universities. He also said the state would conduct the regular annual PSC examination along with a special PSC examination during Youth Year, giving aspirants an additional opportunity to compete for government positions.
The government is also seeking suggestions from young people for activities and initiatives planned during Youth Year.
These announcements follow the broader youth-focused agenda presented at the CM Youth Conclave 2026, where the state announced measures including free competitive-examination coaching in government colleges and higher research support for scholars.
Children’s Ideas Reflect a Wider Development Vision
School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh said the large participation in the painting and speech competitions showed the interest of school students in discussing the country’s future.
The entries reflected a wide range of aspirations. Some students focused on a clean and beautiful India, while others highlighted education, employment, technology, environmental protection and social equality. Many presented India as a developed, self-reliant, educated and prosperous country.
The programme therefore served not only as a competition but also as a platform for understanding how young students view the country’s development priorities.
From Children’s Dreams to Future Opportunities
The ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat’ competition brought millions of students into a common creative exercise around the future of India. By giving children space to express their ideas through art and public speaking, the initiative connected school education with broader conversations about citizenship, development and national aspirations.
For Madhya Pradesh, the participation of more than 50 lakh students also demonstrates the potential of schools as platforms for civic engagement and creative expression. The challenge ahead will be to connect these aspirations with quality education, better school infrastructure, skills and meaningful opportunities as the students move into higher education and employment.
