Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government’s Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana is providing free coaching and academic guidance to students preparing for some of the country’s major competitive examinations. The initiative is aimed at making structured exam preparation more accessible to students who may otherwise face high expenses for private coaching, study material and expert guidance.

Under the scheme, students can access coaching for examinations including the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), JEE Main, NEET, NDA and CDS, among others.

The programme combines classroom teaching with online learning facilities, allowing students from different parts of the state to access preparation support.

Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana Provides Free Competitive Exam Coaching

The Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana was launched in February 2021 by the Uttar Pradesh government. Initially, the programme operated through coaching centres established at divisional headquarters.

The government subsequently introduced online classes to expand the reach of the scheme and enable students to access lectures and guidance beyond the physical coaching centres.

The initiative focuses on providing students with structured academic support without charging coaching fees.

Under the programme, students receive guidance from subject experts and experienced government officers, helping them prepare for different stages and requirements of competitive examinations.

Which Competitive Exams Are Covered Under Abhyudaya Yojana?

The scheme covers preparation for several major entrance and recruitment examinations.

Students can receive coaching and guidance for:

  • UPSC Civil Services Examination
  • UPPSC examinations
  • JEE Main
  • NEET
  • NDA
  • CDS

The broad range of examinations means that the scheme caters to students preparing for civil services, engineering and medical entrance examinations as well as defence-related competitive exams.

Scheme Implemented Across All 75 Districts of Uttar Pradesh

According to information available on the official Abhyudaya portal, the programme is currently being implemented across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The initiative has expanded beyond its initial divisional-level model, with online facilities helping students access classes and study resources from different parts of the state.

The official portal also reports that around 2,000 teachers and subject experts are involved in providing academic guidance under the scheme.

The programme has also recorded selections through examinations covered by the coaching initiative. According to the portal, more than 400 students have been finally selected for various posts through these examinations.

Among the reported selections are:

  • 23 students selected through UPSC 2023
  • 30 students selected through UPPSC 2023
  • 35 students selected through JEE Main 2024

2026-27 Session Began on July 1

The 2026-27 academic session under the Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana began on July 1, 2026.

The official Abhyudaya portal provides lecture plans and timetables for students preparing for several examinations, including:

  • Civil Services
  • JEE Main
  • NEET
  • NDA/CDS

These lecture schedules are intended to provide students with a structured preparation framework and regular access to classes.

Classroom and Online Coaching Available

One of the key features of the Abhyudaya Yojana is its combination of physical classroom coaching and online learning.

The classroom model enables students to attend structured sessions, while online classes extend access to students who may not be able to attend a coaching centre in person.

The programme also provides access to experienced teachers, subject specialists and government officers for academic guidance and mentoring.

This model is intended to help students prepare systematically while reducing the financial burden associated with private coaching.

How Can Students Register for Abhyudaya Yojana?

Students interested in availing themselves of the coaching facility can register through the official Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana portal.

During the registration process, students are required to provide relevant information, including their:

  • Educational qualification
  • District
  • Preferred course
  • Examination they wish to prepare for

The information submitted during registration helps students access the coaching programme relevant to their chosen competitive examination.

Aim of Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana

Competitive examinations such as UPSC, UPPSC, JEE Main, NEET, NDA and CDS generally require long-term preparation, study resources and specialised academic guidance.

Private coaching can also involve significant expenditure, which may create an additional challenge for students who cannot afford such services.

The Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana seeks to address this gap by providing free coaching and mentoring through a government-supported programme.

By expanding classroom and online access across Uttar Pradesh, the initiative aims to provide students with a structured preparation pathway for major competitive examinations without requiring them to pay coaching fees.
