New Delhi: Rameshwer Meena, a senior officer of the Indian Railways Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE), has assumed charge as Director (Systems) of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). The high-speed rail operator announced his appointment on August 19, 2026.
Meena has been appointed on deputation from Indian Railways and will serve as Director (Systems) for a period of five years, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
Rameshwer Meena Appointed as Director (Systems), NCRTC
Rameshwer Meena is a 1992-batch IRSSE officer and was serving as Principal Executive Director (Efficiency & Research) at the Railway Board before joining NCRTC.
Under the Railway Board’s order, he will serve as Director (Systems), NCRTC, on the usual terms of deputation.
His tenure will be:
- For a period of five years
- Or until his superannuation on July 31, 2030
- Or until further orders
Whichever is earlier will apply.
The Railway Board has directed that Meena be relieved from his existing assignment to take up his new responsibility at NCRTC. His date of relief is to be communicated to the Board.

Meena Brings Over 30 Years of Railway Experience
Rameshwer Meena is an Electronics & Communication engineer with more than three decades of experience in the Indian Railways.
During his career, he has held several important positions across railway organisations, including:
- Principal Executive Director (Efficiency & Research), Railway Board
- Executive Director (Signal), Railway Board
- Group General Manager (S&T), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL)
- Various key positions at North Central Railway
- Roles at the Central Organisation for Railway Electrification (CORE)
- Positions at Western Railway
His experience in signalling, systems and railway technology is expected to be relevant to his new responsibility at NCRTC.
Role of Director (Systems) at NCRTC
As Director (Systems), Meena will become part of the senior management of NCRTC, which is responsible for implementing regional rapid transit infrastructure in the National Capital Region. His appointment comes from the Indian Railways’ technical and systems administration framework and adds extensive railway signalling and systems experience to NCRTC’s senior leadership.
NCRTC’s Role in Namo Bharat Project
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation is responsible for implementing the Namo Bharat regional rapid transit system across the National Capital Region. The organisation is working to improve connectivity between Delhi and surrounding areas while supporting balanced and sustainable urban development through faster and better regional transport connectivity.
