Director (Works) Role Gains Importance
The additional responsibility comes at a significant time for NHSRCL as the organisation continues to work on India’s high-speed rail infrastructure programme.
As Director (Works), Katiyar will handle responsibilities related to works and infrastructure activities within NHSRCL, while continuing to oversee his existing Electrical & Systems portfolio.
The arrangement will require coordination across different project and infrastructure-related functions.
Katiyar Already Handles Electrical and Systems Portfolio
As Director (Electrical & Systems), Katiyar is associated with a critical technical area of high-speed rail development.
His existing responsibilities cover electrical and systems-related aspects that are important for the design, integration and functioning of high-speed railway infrastructure.
With the additional charge of Director (Works), his responsibilities will now extend to works-related activities and project execution within NHSRCL.
Additional Charge Ensures Continuity
The decision to assign the additional charge to Katiyar will ensure continuity in the senior management structure of NHSRCL after the Director (Works) post becomes vacant.
The officer will continue to perform his existing responsibilities as Director (Electrical & Systems) while also managing the functions associated with Director (Works).
Such an arrangement enables important senior-level responsibilities to continue without interruption during the transition period or until a regular appointment is made.
