New Delhi: NITI Aayog is preparing to undertake Special Campaign 6.0 with a focus on institutionalising Swachhata, reducing pending matters and improving workplace conditions across its Secretariat and attached and subordinate offices.
The campaign builds on the Centre’s Special Campaign initiative launched by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) in 2021 for disposal of pending matters. According to the PIB release, the campaign was continued in subsequent years, with the latest edition focusing on wider disposal and cleanliness-related measures.
NITI Aayog Disposed of Over 4,000 Public Grievances in Previous Campaign
During Special Campaign 5.0, NITI Aayog and its attached offices — the Development Monitoring & Evaluation Office (DMEO) and Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) — along with its autonomous institution National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development (NILERD), undertook activities related to disposal of pending matters and Swachhata.
NITI Aayog reported disposal of 4,105 Public Grievances, 127 PMO references, 34 Public Grievance Appeals and five Parliamentary Assurances during the campaign.
The organisation also reported freeing approximately 90 sq ft of office space through disposal of files and optimisation of office space. Scrap disposal generated revenue of ₹1,96,905, according to the PIB release.
Special Campaign 6.0 to Target Pendency and Redundant Files
Under Special Campaign 6.0, NITI Aayog will focus on reducing pendency in several categories of official references and grievances.
The campaign will cover:
- References from Members of Parliament
- References from State Governments
- Inter-Ministerial References
- Parliamentary Assurances
- PMO references
- Public Grievances and Public Grievance Appeals
- Weeding out redundant files and documents
The campaign will also give attention to office cleanliness, space management and workplace experience in field offices.
The initiative is part of the broader Special Campaign framework of DARPG, which seeks to improve disposal of pending matters and promote cleanliness and better management of government offices.
