New Delhi: NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, held its 70th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 29, 2026, through video conferencing at the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Hall.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya, CMD and Director (Finance), Additional Charge. During the AGM, the company presented its financial and operational performance for FY 2025-26 and outlined its future growth strategy under the theme “From Resources to Resilience.”
NLC India Reports Record PAT of ₹3,769 Crore
NLCIL reported strong financial performance for FY 2025-26, with several key financial indicators reaching record levels.
The company reported:
- Profit After Tax (PAT): ₹3,769 crore, up 38.91% year-on-year
- Profit Before Tax (PBT): ₹3,875 crore, up 4.84%
- Revenue from operations: ₹17,490 crore
- EBITDA: ₹7,475 crore, an all-time high
- Capital expenditure: ₹9,131 crore, a record level
- Net worth: ₹21,525 crore, up 14.96%
The performance reflects the company’s focus on strengthening its core operations while expanding into new energy and diversified business areas.

NLCIL Announces ₹533.86 Crore Dividend Payout
At the 70th AGM, NLCIL announced a total dividend payout of 38.5%, amounting to ₹533.86 crore.
The total payout includes the 36% interim dividend already declared for FY 2025-26.
The dividend announcement forms part of the company’s shareholder value creation strategy as NLCIL continues to expand its operational and renewable energy portfolio.
Talabira Coal Production Hits Record 19.14 MT
NLCIL recorded significant operational achievements during FY 2025-26.
Coal production from Talabira-II & III Open Cast Project (OCP) reached an all-time high of 19.14 million tonnes (MT), while coal dispatch stood at 17.69 MT.
The company also recorded green energy generation of 2.26 billion units, marking another operational high and reflecting the increasing contribution of renewable energy to its overall portfolio.
NLCIL Achieves Key Operational Milestones
The company highlighted several major milestones achieved during the year.
These include:
- Commencement of coal production at Pachwara South Coal Mine
- Full commercial operation of all three 660 MW units at NUPPL Ghatampur
- Expansion of the group’s renewable energy portfolio to 1,785 MW
- Record green energy generation of 2.26 billion units
- Record coal production of 19.14 MT at Talabira-II & III OCP
These developments are part of NLCIL’s broader strategy to strengthen its mining and power businesses while increasing its presence in renewable energy.
NLC India Targets 20 GW Power Capacity Under Vision 2047
Looking ahead, NLCIL has set ambitious targets under its Vision 2047 strategy.
The company aims to achieve:
- 20 GW of power generation capacity
- More than 100 MTPA mining capacity
- Greater renewable energy capacity
- Expansion of battery energy storage systems
- Development of green hydrogen
- M-sand production from overburden
- Diversification into critical minerals
The strategy is aimed at transforming NLCIL into a more diversified and resilient energy enterprise while supporting the country’s evolving energy requirements.
Renewable Energy and New Businesses to Drive Growth
NLCIL plans to strengthen its presence beyond conventional mining and thermal power.
Renewable energy, battery energy storage systems and green hydrogen are expected to play an important role in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
The company is also exploring M-sand production from overburden and opportunities in critical minerals, supporting its broader diversification plans.
