Tamil Nadu: NLC India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) to jointly develop large-scale renewable energy projects in Tamil Nadu. The partnership aims to accelerate India’s clean energy transition and support the country’s net-zero emission goals.
The MoU was signed in New Delhi on June 20, 2026, in the presence of senior executives from both organisations.
Wide Range of Renewable Energy Projects Planned
Under the proposed joint venture, both companies will collaborate on multiple clean energy segments, including:
- Solar power projects
- Wind energy projects
- Hybrid renewable energy systems
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Pumped hydro storage projects
- Green hydrogen and green fuels
- Solar module manufacturing
The partnership also aims to supply renewable energy to commercial and industrial consumers, distribution companies, energy exchanges, and emerging sectors such as e-mobility.

- Manoj Nanda, Chief General Manager (Alternate Energy), Indian Oil Corporation Limited
Senior officials from both companies were present during the signing ceremony, highlighting the strategic importance of the collaboration.
