Bacheli: The NMDC Bacheli Complex has strengthened its operational and safety infrastructure with the inauguration of two 50 KL Komatsu water sprinklers equipped with firefighting arrangements.
The advanced utility vehicles have been commissioned at Deposit-10/11A (WT-8) and Deposit-5 (WT-9). Their deployment is expected to improve dust suppression across mining areas while strengthening emergency response capabilities at the complex.
Two 50 KL Water Sprinklers Commissioned at Bacheli
The newly inducted Komatsu water sprinklers have been deployed at two key mining locations:
- Deposit-10/11A – WT-8
- Deposit-5 – WT-9
With a capacity of 50 kilolitres (KL) each, the vehicles are designed to support essential utility and safety requirements across NMDC’s mining operations.
The firefighting arrangements integrated into the vehicles will also provide additional support during emergency situations, strengthening the complex’s preparedness and response capabilities.

New Equipment to Strengthen Dust Suppression
Dust management is an important operational and environmental requirement in mining areas. The induction of the new sprinklers will strengthen dust suppression activities across the mining areas at the Bacheli Complex. The deployment of dedicated high-capacity water sprinklers will support more effective dust control and contribute to better environmental management around operational areas.
Enhanced Emergency Response Capabilities
In addition to dust suppression, the new vehicles are equipped to support emergency response operations.
The firefighting arrangements will provide an additional resource for responding to fire-related emergencies at the mining complex, thereby supporting stronger safety preparedness and response mechanisms.
Boost to Operational Efficiency and Safety Standards
The commissioning of the two advanced utility vehicles marks a significant step towards strengthening the overall efficiency and safety of NMDC’s mining operations in Bacheli.
The new equipment is expected to contribute to:
- Improved dust suppression across mining areas
- Enhanced emergency response capabilities
- Better environmental management
- Greater operational efficiency
- Strengthened safety standards at mining operations
The initiative reflects the focus on integrating improved equipment and infrastructure into mining operations to ensure safer and more environmentally responsible operations.
