Bacheli: NMDC Limited’s Bacheli Complex has launched a welfare initiative for local school students under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The distribution campaign was formally started from Bhansi Gram Panchayat, following a request to provide school bags, shoes and socks to schoolchildren from 12 Gram Panchayats located around NMDC Bacheli.
As part of the first phase of the initiative, students from six schools in Bhansi Gram Panchayat were provided with school bags, socks and shoes of different sizes.
181 School Bags and Pairs of Shoes Distributed
A total of 181 school bags and 181 pairs of shoes and socks were distributed among students.
The six schools covered under the initiative are:
- Government Netaji Primary School
- Swami Atmanand Hindi Medium School
- Primary School Bazarpara
- New Primary School Masapara
- Government Primary School Kummapara
- Primary School Porokmeli
The initiative is aimed at supporting students with essential school requirements and contributing to their educational well-being.

Officials and Local Representatives Attend Programme
Josey Thomas, DGM (HR) – CSR, NMDC Bacheli, and Saurabh Kumar, DGM (HR), NMDC Bacheli, attended the programme as key representatives of NMDC.
The event was also attended by:
- Arvind Kunjam, Zila Panchayat Upadhyaksh
- Mr. Verma, Bhansi Station House Officer
- Meera Bhaskar, Sarpanch, Bhansi
- Ward Panch members
- Local teachers and school representatives
- Parents and villagers
- Students from the participating schools
The distribution programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents and members of the local community.
NMDC Strengthens Community Welfare Through CSR
The initiative reflects NMDC’s efforts to support the educational and social development of communities living in and around its operational areas.By providing essential school items to children from local villages, the company aims to contribute to their educational needs and strengthen community engagement through its CSR activities.
The distribution campaign is expected to be extended to other Gram Panchayats around the NMDC Bacheli Complex as part of the broader initiative.
